T-case swap in a Walmart parking lot

Yeah but still not as fast as this

I hope all you guys bragging about changing alternators and serpentine belts on a paved parking lot just watched that last vid, THATS what a badass looks like...

some of my worst nightmares happen in and around NYC bridges. the nut worked it way off my axle side trackbar bolt after bouncing around the steel plates they put on the tappan zee at 65mph. i pretty much prepared myself for fiery death and/or drowning but managed to limp off the bridge and had a spare nut in my toolbox.
I had traffic zooming around me at like 50 mph. Meanwhile, I was on my knees with my face to the ground trying to reach under and up past the bumper to reconnect the coupler. If a car rearended me I would of been done. Luckily, a PA worker with a huge ass truck (looked like one of those trucks where they put cones down) came up behind. The guy stepped out and said either I'm a XXXXing idiot or got balls. I told him it was probably the former.

Was involved with a complete front axle swap on the top of a mountain.Nosigma did most of the work, I was only in on the recovery. A TJ broke a rear axle on a rock climb, tried to drive in FWD to the meeting point only to find a broken axle stub on the front pass side.

During the tow to the top of the mountain , the wheel broke off and folded under the TJ, bending the control arms it was a mess....
Once at the top, another club member drove home (60 miles) got truck and spare XJ front axle assmbly, drove back to top of mountain. During this time Nosigma and TJ owner waited out a Thunder storm. After axle arrived ,it was installed and TJ owner drove out under own power back to NoVa.

WOW!

Coast Guard cutter was in drydock in Tampa, and I decided to use one of my duty nights to change out my front bearings and brake pads using the ship's air tools. Job went well, got the Jeep all buttoned back up, then popped a brake line moving back to the parking lot. Next duty night was spent changing out the brake line from the master cylinder all the way to the rear. Never realized how rusted that brake line was until I removed it, and I drove from Pascagoula, MS, to Tampa the week before on it!

Did you learn that had these individuals in the TJ stopped and removed the shaft they never would have seperated the ball joints and saved a lot of headache?

Shaft was broken between the U-joint and wheel. Short side axle and couldnt be seen.

Took a wrong turn in NYC and ended up on a street they were repaving. The manhole covers were 6-8 inches above the gravel and the chick I was with was yelling about how we missed our turn... as I turned to tell her to shut up I nailed a manhole with my exhaust, wich was swiftly torn off and spun like spagetti under my CRX. Stopped a block later infront of a swanky hotel to begin hacksawing my exhaust off. Doorman kept telling me to leave I kept refering him to the tangle of pipe bent around my axle. It was a funny fix, but the 8 hour drive back upstate with no exhaust was not fun.

In college I swapped a starter on my Taurus with no jack. I was 99% certain it wasn't possible. The NEW napa starter failed and I had to put in the old one. That wasn't fun.

Changed a fuel filter on my Taurus on the side of a GIANT hill. The fuel filter was plugging up the entire trip. The entire area was hilly and every time I'd come to a hill it would sputter but I usually had enough momentum to make it up with my foot planted. This big one was probably 3/4 of a mile long and a STEEP grade. Almost to the top it finally quit. Couldn't prime it enough to start. Was too afraid to back down such a steep hill with no power brakes. Swapped in a filter on the side of a big hill with trucks going by. There wasn't a shoulder and I was stuck off the side of the granny lane.

Helped do a U joint or two on the trail ... put a belt back on a compass after it was submerged over the headlights.
