Swweeeet.
BTW, nice grill and body work in the last few pics.
Do that there?
Yeah, the grill work and rr door peel are from there.
What Brett posted a pic of is called Black Sheep and is rated "exreme".
There are some veeeery nasty trails there, as well as easier ones.
There are trails that run up rocky, bouldery, ledgy creeks and ones that run up and down both sides the side of the mountain. Mud isn't a problem and snorkels are not required.
The daily rate for trail usage is $10 per Jeep and is done on the honor system by putting your money in a box at the trailhead. This keeps the fuel in the dozers and chainsaws and lets more new trails get cut.
The trails are clearly marked with ribbon, so there won't be and "guided runs", per se.
In the Green Acres area, all the trails branch off of a main trail and have signs labelling the trail ratings.
With a short drive, there are even more trails in Yanush and Poteau.
Personally, I think it would be a much better 3 day or more event, as there are probably 10 trails to choose from in the area and even more within 30 minutes from there. We can make it longer if needed.
There are motels in town and the going rate is $30 per night. There is also camping about 5 miles away at Sardis lake.
If you want a motel room, you'd better reserve one now. Give me some time and I'll try to get the phone #s for them.
The good thing about the motels is that there are fire pits and lots of trailer parking.
If there is breakage, there is a machine shop at the trailhead that can be used for anything from tire changes to engine or axle swaps at brother in law prices. They'll let you use thier equipment and are real easy going.
I busted my rear DS yoke and the guy there gave me one off of a used DS. When I asked how much, he said, "$15 or however much you can afford. He was even going to throw in a used u-joint for free if I didn't have one.
As for tradition, the tradition with Sweatfest is that the shit can be changed at a moments notice to suit our needs.
I'm going out on a ledge here, but the talk around there is that Clayton and the surrounding area is cosidered to be the next Moab. As vehicles get more and more capable the trails need to get tougher and tougher. That place has everything from bunny trails to winch only trails and they aren't in danger of being closed.
Now then, let me have it and ask any questions.
