Swamp Lake USGS maps

I was thinking about getting some good topo maps for the swamp lake run and program some way points into a GPS prior to going. I will have some student aides pull the maps from Delta College, but I need to tell them the names of the maps I need. So far I have the following:

Swamp Lake Madera o37119e4 Sing Peak 373250N 1192718W

Swamp Lake Fresno o37119b1 Dogtooth Peak 370744N 1190410W

Swamp Lakes Fresno o36118h6 Slide Bluffs 365301N 1184214W

Swamp Meadow Fresno o37119b1 Dogtooth Peak 370807N 1190423W

Dinkey Creek Fresno o37119a2 Dinkey Creek 370000N 1190730W

Those sound about right? Can anyone think of any different ones I might need. I was going to identify the exits and roads/trails and post them for people with GPS units (I sold mine but will borrow a friends) if anyone is interested.

OK. I should have the entire Swamp Lake trail cordinates completed by tomorrow afternoon. Every road, junction, and important location (I will unclude which direction to turn with every way point. There is something like 35 twists and turns) will be available and can be referenced with www.topozone.com if anyone is interested. I am still trying to figure out where the Thursday night camping location will be. If ChuckD or another Fresnonian who knows the directions could pm me with them, I can figure it out and include that for GPS savy people.

Usually how find places is by looking at my AAA maps. ;)
The one I have for that area has Swamp Route on it(along with all the other trails). :D

Jes,

I got into using topo maps a few years ago and with a GPS they work great. Before comming to a junction, I know its comming and which way to turn. I figured if anyone wanted to look at the route, they could get on line, put in a few numbers and pull it up. Call it wheeling on the coutch with a few adult beverages. For me, it is nice to know the names of places and possible alternate routes and possible fishing spots.

Well I posted the coordinates for the entire trail, but the board will not let me post properly. If you want the specific trail and cross roads, pm me and I will email them to you on WORD.

In short, Swamp lake is at
Longitude / Longitude - degrees and decimal minutes from www.topozone.com

37 7.76 / 119 4.43

I'll show you the trailhead, then all you have to do is stay on it.......there aren't any forks in the road. I've posted pretty complete directions to our usual camping spot at Dinkey Creek, just flip back to previous Swamp threads, or do a search, and you'll find them.
