Fanny packs are somewhat out of style, unless you wear alot of rainbow colors.

Also fanny packs are almost a guaranteed dead giveaway....

Fagbags are an even bigger giveaway than photojournalist vests, if you're not carrying a camera.

I saw somewhere, recently, an "inverted" ankle rig for compact pistols - you can draw it without having to hike your pants halfway up to your knee, as the grip is downward. Interesting - but I usually wear my pants bloused into my boots anyhow (old habit, and I like them that way.) Besides, I find SOB or belt slide carry rather more convenient - get a leather belt slide (or a good Nylon one,) and if there's no pistol in it, you won't know it's there. Kydex? Not so much...

Somewhat scary as I could see it being more prone to being lost. Also ankle holsters should be more of a backup setup then primary.

No argument - on either point. However, the blurb did say it was tested at a full run &c (holster manufacturers tend to be more honest than most, but marketing people should always be taken with a grain or three of salt...) so it would be interesting to check out.

eddited for you.

We know that, LEO's know that and more importantly, BG's know that.
While in my classes, this was one of the first no-no's when deciding how to carry...unless you get it bright pink or this one (but then you'll have other problems.) :roflmao:

I carry a Safariland model 6281. Its a bit older model but the Safariland brand is quickly becoming the Military standard.

I actually use it on my duty belt but its designed to be a concealed carry. Not too bad I like it and will probly use it for a while.

I also have a Blackhawk paddle/belt (CQB?) that I think is a pos, but it's much better for competition shoots and times when you need to reholster a bunch. Cheap crap though and I like to get some good Kydex.

were did you get the holster it? it looks nice with your 1911 in it.

HBE Specialty Leatherworks, he's in North Salt Lake about 2 miles from my office. It's OK, but it might be on the market in the future. It's SUPER comfortable but it really bugs me that is closes when the gun is drawn so that you can't get the gun back in without two hands. I'm headed for either leather/Kydex or all Kydex on my next IWB holster. Kydex makes for a very fast draw as well, takes some getting used to after using leather.
