Suggestions for tool set

They don't have the set that I bought anymore, but I would just get one of these. I know that there are a lot better tools out there, but these are reasonably priced and I have only had one socket break (using it on an impact wrench). That was easily replaced. I left it out in the rain for a few days one time, and the ratchets got a little rusty. I just put some WD-40 on them and then oiled them up again and they still work just fine. Those sets obviously don't have all the tools you will need but something like the 192 piece set plus a torx bit set and whatever other random socket sizes you will need (36MM for the hubs as an example) will let you do most of what you need.

Other tools I have added while doing other jobs are stuff like a harmonic damper puller, flare set, gasket scraper, various pliers and vice grips, a screwdriver set, and a wiring tool.

Thats a good deal art.... Pm me your adress, and a time, and i will come assist you in needing a new ser :eyes: / casual

I guess a better question is what does one need?

i hardly ever use my socket set or end wrenches since i picked up gear wrenches, so I guess we.all have different needs.

Going to need metric, standarf and torx sockets, meric and standard.end wrenches, screwdrivers, a swivel, a hammer, a test light, prybar, wire brush, crecent wrench, and some extensions .
solderimg gun or crimpers are nice to have, unless you like wire nuts..
This will get you through trail repair and most maintenance

A "depot" level repair job requires a much longer list

Not sure how much you are looking to spend, but check out the site below.

You will have to check back every couple of days, but they usually come up with some pretty good deals on Craftsman stuff, if that's a good enough brand for your needs.

The deal is dead now, but they had a 118 piece set for just over 50 bux.

Its GOTTA be the 99... the cheaper sets skip over sizes like 16 and 18mm... WHICH IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT.

I would not recommend anything but the 99. This is not the be-all, end-all tool set... but it does keep 90% of your sockets in one, neat and organized spot. Being able to find that 14mm socket, in seconds, is PRICELESS to me... I despise hunting for a simple socket...

I got one of the hf sets for going to the jy and other misc tinkering. It has way more stuff in it than the craftsman set I have. And so far no problems or breakage. I'm not easy on tools either.

i've broken way too many craftsman tools to even consider them anymore. i gave them up about 10 years ago. For cheaper tools, i've had good luck with Husky and Duralast from Autozone believe it or not.

Costco has a couple of different box sets, cresent and craftsman 150/200 piece sets. For around 90$ or less.
