Now I could be confused, it's been known to happen every once in a great while, but would subscribing to a forum be where it sends you an e-mail every time there's a post to it? If so it doesn't seem to work well (at least with the SoCal forum). Just thought I'd throw this up...

"subscribing" to a forum or thread simply puts a link to that thread or forum in your "user cp" (control panel). It does not send e-mails to you when somebody posts in the subscribed thread or forum.
The only e-mail notifications you get are to threads you have posted in, if you elect to receive notification.
Hopefully this clears that up. My understanding is that the next release may allow for e-mail notification of some sort for "subscribed" threads and forums.
