Hey Starboard, do you have a schematic? I have a spare trim panel and I might just do that.

I agree. These Type X components were bought a year after they started that whole movement, and they do not sound even close to as good as some other high end brands. I got them really cheap, and thats what they sound like compared to a Kappa Perfect or a MB quartz. My original 6.5 Polk/Momo components were way better on reproducing lower freq's.

And nice job on the box, it is a real clean setup.

Thanks Im happy with it.

Here's mine. Don't worry, I use tie-downs.

Still need to finish the cover, which will get a panel to cover the top, then get carpeted. It will also support a light load when the seat gets folded down.

Just a 10" Kicker in a ported box that happens to have the perfect wedge shape to fit against the Rubbermaid bin.

The Kicker pounds pretty good but it's not as clean as I'd like. A JL or Alpine will replace it soon.

And since I haven't posted a pic of my XJ yet, here it is:

Premier DEHP690UB & 80G Hard Drive
Kicker KX350.2 Powering the KS525's
Kicker KS525 Front Speakers
Kicker KS525 Rears
Kicker ZX1000.1 Amp
Kicker 15" CVX W/ Kicker Grille
4Ft^3 Ported Box at 32Hz
Kicker 4 & 8 Gauge Wire Kits

MATT1994XJ does that rattle alot? i'm lookin at making one of those my self.

no not at all and i dont even have it attached to anything. i had just finished and wanted to get it together so i was like yea ill attach it later but i never did. it is a very tight fit. it doesnt have any room to rattle and the plastic panel holds it in pretty tight. i used 3/4 mdf. i also put some blocks on the face of the box to give the sub room for excursion without hitting the carpet.

Sorry to bring us such an old post, but does anyone knaow what brand this enclusre is? I have been looking for a Sleathbox style enclosure like this for my XJ but can only seem to find them listed for the Grand Cherokees. Ideas? I can't make out the logo or brand name.

Okay, I thought it looked like a JL unit but was confused when I couldn't find it on their site. Thanks for the info.

I guess I'll have to suck it up and make one or go with the cheezy Select Incriments one. I thought it over and since the JLs are so expensive new, I don't know if I want to put that kind of coin into this project if they did make another batch.

I've got a cheap amp and a 12" Alpine Type-R in a Q-logic bandpass. Anybody want to recommend an amp? I care more about sound quality than LOUDNESS as I don't listen to anything besides hard rock, metal, and the occasional pink floyd album. :)
