Anyone else experience a very short intermittent cutout of the engine due to the crank or camshaft position sensor when it's cold?
99 4.0 will cut out for a very short time when its cold. Sometimes it throws the code sometimes it doesn't. Usually happens in the morning when its cold (<45 degrees). After the engine is at full operating temperature, it runs great. I took it by the local parts house to have it the codes checked and he said it was the crank/camshaft code. I can't remember the number off the top of my head.
I tested the crank sensor with a volt meter and it was showing no resistance, but it was warmer in the evening. Is there a way to test the camshaft sensor?
