Hey guys, yesterday I tried helping pull some guy out that is stuck by my hosue and was not abe to do anything. I dont really know the guy, he is my father-in-law's friends, friend. I have no idea what he was doing but he got his 3/4 ton Suburban pretty far down a muddy trail and then buired it. Its at a bad angle and the mud is super slippery. He is up against a fence on the passnger side so it can only be pulled UP hill. Currently I dont have a single rig that can pull or winch something out like that, if anybody has a full size rig with a winch and wants to help him out here is his number: 714-654-4338 his name is Dave....or David (cant remeber)

I wont be able to help anymore because I'll be working all week, but if somebody wants to give it a shot give him a call. The Suburan is stuck off Weirick and the I15 (about 10miles south of the 91).

I really think atleast 2 rigs are needed for this.

Thats a bad pull for a jeep out weighed and trying to pull up hill is gona bring the suck. Bill and wags towing has a bad ass 4x4 tow rig that might be able to do it.

Ya him and the other guy I wana say is named Jim or some crap like that. LOL
Place I was working at used them a lot that rig is pretty awsome definatly not your normal tow truck

Yea, no way a single Jeep can do it. Maybe 3 all hooked up to each other, but I think 1 Jeep with a good winch, and 1 or 2 more to achor to should be able to tug him out without much issues.

does anyone have a snatch block? my dad has a 91 dodge dually cummins 4x4 flat bed with a 12,000 lb winch that might be able to get it out with the snatch block. although we are about 30 miles from corona and i dont think he'd drive out there for free, especially if we have to battle traffic on the 91

With that winch you should be able to just give it a direct pull. Give the guy a call, I think he is getting desperate and probably wouldnt mind paying for somebody to help him out. If you guys decide to go for it, post up or PM me and I'll try to run down and offer staps and you can use my rig to anchor your truck.

i talked to my dad and he says if its still stuck this weekend theres a good chance we could attempt to recover it. cant do it durring the week tho because he has work.

Cool man, Saturday works for me, Sunday I'll be back at work though. I'll keep the thread up to date incase he gets pulled out sooner.

Has anyone tried digging it out?

Yea, he is no longer sitting on the frame rails. Its hard to discribe but basicly he is hung up on his axles and is on top of a now broken down chain link fence. We dug out the areas around the tires, I tried pulling him backwords first for 2 reasions 1) in hope of getting the ass end of it away from the fence and 2) I was on almost flat ground(slightly angle to my driver side). I pulled him back about 2ft, but he pulled me sideways instead of him pulling away from the fence. Then I gave it a shot from the front at a steep angle trying again to pull him away from the fence, didnt even move! I really didnt want to get directly infront of him because then there was a chance of ME slidding into the fence, but I figured I would at least try....I couldnt even get there, I started slipping and sliding and digging in. Thats when I called it quit's because I didnt want to be next. I should have took a picture, maybe tomorrow morning I'll run down and take a picture or video of where he is at.

yeah, take a picture or something so we can get an idea of the situation. my dad and i have lots of chain, cable and strap so between everyone we should have enough to get it out. i think the snatch block would be a good backup plan if the winch cant get it out unassisted.

Sounds like he's close to out. I have a interview tomorrow morning but I should be available around noon to go take a look. I doubt my winch can do the job alone but I'm willing to take a look. I'm in norco so its not terribly far Text me tomorrow morning 9o9

I sent you a text about 10:30am with directions and pictures of what to look for. Not sure if you got it. Let me know if you went down there to check it out.

Here it is, looks like he was back over there and managed to swing the back of the truck down and point the front up some how. He is in a MUCH better spot than before now.

By the looks of it I think two locked up XJ's with some good tires on him and pull him out. Keep in mind this mud is not deep at all, but is SUPER sticky and slippery, its like walking on grease! To put it in perspective of how sticky and then slippery it is, once I pulled out of there in my XJ and got on asphalt, I shifted into 2WD and tried going UP-hill on ASPHALT....I stood there spinning the tires untill most of the mud fell off!!!! The going down hill I tried slowing down and my front end completely locked up and I just slid!! Its like being on ice, its honestly the stickest/most slippery mud I have EVER dealt with. From walking back and forth from his truck to my XJ my shoes had a good 3-4" of mud stuck to the bottom of them, it WONT fall off, it just layers on!

Is this private property? If we go out there to try and help, might we end up in trouble with a property owner?

I was just out there and yes I think its doable with a couple well equiped vehicles.

Walking around I saw some private property signs but it may be vacant land not part of the closest house. Pretty dumb place to be really but ehh
Its still real soft and slippery your going to need a pretty damn good tire for traction but it is doable
