stroker problems

just installed my 4.6 stroker. it runs like total crap. does seem to shift right. the gas pedal feels way different, soft for the first little bit then its kinda hard to push. it kills my battery fast. has a code that was something about the dist.
 
I seriously doubt these issues are actually related to the engine itself. The throttle being stiff after a certain point is most likely the cable or throttle body binding. Look for kinks in the throttle cable. Are you saying it does shift correctly or doesn't? And it would to actually know the code for the distributor, but most likely it is just not indexed correctly. I'm not sure what is killing your battery but it isn't the engine.
 
ok, i'll check that. on start up it sputtered like crazy when i went on lunchbreak, didnt want to shift didnt feel like the tranny was even there. on my way home it didnt want to even move. after it got warmed up it got better but still wasnt good. it has way less power then my 4.0
 
Did you do the adjustment on the TV cable that hooks to the tranny. If it is out of adjustment, it can reach its limit before the throttle body is wide open. It would feel like the skinny pedal was binding.
 
didnt adjust any cable that i'm awear of. whats the TV cable? the jeep felt fine until i pressed the pedal about 3/4 to an inch down. but not its all going wired, its hard for me to explain.
 
There is a cable that comes up from the automatic transmission and connects to a lever on the butterfly in the throttle body. In the old days it was called the kick down cable, but it serves a different function now. It is used to control the pressure in the transmission. I am super busy right now so hopefully some one can help out by posting a picture and a quick writeup on how to adjust it.

adjusted the cable. and checked the altn. wires. way better now. but the tranny still doesnt shift like id like. it will hit 4200 rpms then shift if i'm kinda dogging it.
