1998 Grand Cherokee Limited with factory towing electronics...
So, having a real problem figuring this on out. Have the factory round towing connector on back bumper. Running lights work fine. But, no brake lights or turn signals. Put a meter on the connector and get less than a volt of swing (probably less than .3 volt) with turn signals or E Flashers activated. Traced back to the flasher/brake relays behind spare tire. They click when signals or brake are activated but I get the same less than 1 volt deflection at the connector after the relays. Seems like I'm lacking a bunch of voltage. Any ideas? Taped to the wires going into the relays was a nearly square 1"x1" component. not sure what it was, but did read about a boolean logic controler. 2 wires going into the thing both red. was stamped with 18A 12V plus some other number.
