stock+mud=a big mess

well, i happened to see a few of my freinds with their ford f150 and it turned out we both had nothing to do, so we decided to go exploring some local trails, all was well and good and i was incredibly impressed with the jeep did just stock. however, after we had come several miles we came up to a large mud puddle i thought i could take. just the opposite, i barely made it 2 feet in. luckily he had a 9000lb winch that we was able to pull it both through with. lesson learned? you cant do everything you say you can, and always bring a buddy. and seeing as this is worthless without pics:

nice way to go for it lol. i bought my XJ from a dealer, he let me take it on a test drive alone. i was living in ohio at the time and hit the tractor roads on the back side of a buddys farm and got it bumper deep in some mud but never got stuck... 3 hours later i drove back into the dealership with the windows where the wipers pass being the only part without mud on it, walked in and said " alright i guess i'll take it!" the guy looked at me and said " you god damn well better bringing it back like that!" haha.

Not mud but it was ther over 24 hours. Ice behind me and infront of me and my right side slipped off to where it was 4 feet deeper

OK, I actually did Laugh Out Loud after reading that story. I might have to try that next time I test drive a jeep. I wonder what they'd do if you didn't buy it?

Got about 7inutes of wheeling before this happened. Ended up getting an F-150 stuck trying to get us out. Needed to call a towtruck and have him winch us out at 11 pm. Then, overheated on the way home and had to coast into the gas station to get water for it.
We left at 7pm and didn't get home until about 11:30

Since then, theres only been one other "oh shit" moment. And it was pretty much identicle to ddeaserious'. Easily sunk the 33's and had a good amount of water in the cab filling up.

Oh, and if I'm not mistaken, there's already a thread like this. I remember because I posted in it, but I'm too lazy to go find it. This one seems better anyway.

I tried to follow a ZJ who had larger tires though a mud hole. Needless to say I ended up sitting on my axles and spinning the tires at idle. Yes the front tire is completly filled with mud. Took 3 weeks to get it all out.

Same deal here. Just because you don't have money doesn't mean you can't have fun. Sometime you get in too deep. That's why you go with friends who have money. I'm only barely now getting the money together to put All Terrain tires on mine. I was running All Season road tires in that shot.
