Still alive... barely...

For those not in the know, I had a rather horrible accident on my Raptor 660 on April 25... messing around on my acre, I ended up thrown into a tree ... son found me unconscious and broken, called for 911... was Life Flighted to Salem Hospital, and shortly up to OHSU... shopping list of injuries: shattered jaw/rt cheek/rt orbit... rt femur shattered 4 places... rt hip socket broken ... severed artery behind rt knee, for which they grafted one from my left leg..
. T-1 and C-10 spinal/cervical fractures, and a slight brain bleed... I was in OHSU for two weeks... I am happy to say, docs think I will make a full recovery... wasn't the case at first, but I am healing remarkably well, and all my docs agree I should fully recover
... just thought I'd let you guys know I miss you all, and I WILL BE BACK!!!

Thx, everyone ... I have a long road yet, but I'll make it...

Glad to hear you're going to make a full recovery! Cant imagine that horror you're family and you were going thru!

Wow how things work out kieth. I was just thinking of you today and was going post a info wanted thread and text a few people. I am very glad to hear your are doing better. I hope you think twice before getting back on that horse again. Don't get me wrong, I love atv's and have owned many of them. But after mine my wife's and my son's last boo boo's we had to give them up. We're not getting any younger you old fart.

Hope to see you on the trail soon!

Post up when your good to go, I like to wheel with you. We have about the same speed. Get there when we get there.

Dave

Thanks, Dave... and you can bet that when I'm well, you'll be one of the first I'd like to wheel with... I still remember you giving that stock YJ a licking going up FB5... then dragging you across C-line in that white TJ... GOOD TIMES!!! Will def keep everyone posted, and thanks, Dave, for the kind words, my friend ...

glad your ok,I was worried you couldnt type. got any cool pics to show us???

will be getting pics of my xrays and such up soon... pretty impressive list of unobtanium that was used to put ol' humpty back together again!

Hey Keith, glad your doing better. Sounds like your on the trail to mend. Good times!!! See us on the trail

Thanks, Rod! Sounds like a plan, sir... I wrote a post, addressing mainly 'boringdave', but the gist of it was meant for others, as well, like yourself, Rod, and Dustin... you guys know who you are... friends...

Bit of an update... this all happened Apr. 25... At OHSU, they initially thought I'd be there at least a month... I guess I heal faster than the avg bear, cuz they sent me home after only 10 days! With my jaw wired shut, liquid food was my world for awhile... was supposed to be in limbo like that ( jaw wired, gawdawful plastic cervical collar, etc) for 4-6 weeks... well, super-healer that I apparently am, my various docs have determined that my jaw be set free, the neck brace, which was no doubt designed by a torture master, be taken off and set afire, and the rest of my injuries be governed by my pain tolerance ... I'm now mobile, with the use of a walker, able to do for myself most personal hygiene items, as well as help out some around the house... I want to say, my hero thru all this is my loving Teresa, without whom I would not be progressing as I am... she is an amazing woman who has done sooooo much for me, that mere words cannot do her justice... baby, I love you...

And so here I am... soon I'll begin physical therapy, one day at a time... can't wait to see my wheeling brothers and sisters... you can't know how much incentive you give me to get better... and I'm not just blowing smoke... thank you, guys and gals, for the words and prayers ... means a lot to me... now I'm gonna go cry like a little girl... don't worry, it'll be a good, positive cry!!

Wholy Cow man, we were getting some updates at first from various people in the beginning, then nothing.....
It's really good to hear from you and glad you're on the mend brother!
I had mentioned this incident on the podcast, right after we knew it had happened, and I had asked all our listeners to send good thoughts your way..... Looks like all this positive thinking and you're fighting will pulled you thru! Keep up the good fight, and get well soon!!!...(you still have some work to finish up on Saddle Up!) :D

Thank you and your listeners for the positive vibe! And I am looking Soooo forward to seeing the new trail come to fruition! It'll be a long, hard road for me, but, in the words of a muscle- bound Austrian, "I'll be back"!!!

Good women are hard to find , mine had to go through the same type of thing a little over a year ago . I was hit by some asshole while riding my motorcycle to work and was almost killed . Life flight to one hospital only to be sent to another because my injuries where to severe. A little over a year later im almost back to new . Hang in there buddy , when your all healed buy her a jeep . Mine liked that

thx Mike ... sorry to hear of your wreck, but glad you're alright! Funny thing is, she bought the XJ we currently have for me, when we first were dating... At the time I was driving my 6mpg Dodge Ramcharger 20 or so miles each way to see her... the XJ facilitated our dating, so... the rest is history...
