Yes the cylinders...they form in any engine over time. The synthetics cleaned em out and the engine performance started to go bad. Eventually I blew a seal and gasket and had to tear down the engine.
That's a tough break...trying to something good for the engine and it gets ruined. But it's good to know....I'll stick with the Mobil-1 synthetics based on your experiences with the Valvoline synthetics.
I think I'd visit the Valvoline website and ask them about their thoughts on your experience with their product.
Well it really had nothing to do with the brand I used. Would have happened with any brand synthetic. It was more the fact that I got the truck at 100K miles and the previous owner treated it like trash. More than likely the cracks and damage to the engine were cause by rough use.
