Well our other fearless leader Bob is turning the big 40 on the 15th of this month. I've been trying to come up with some scheme to sing him in in style and am having creativity issues so...
The guys at the shop have decided that we're going to go on a trip to Spring Creek to celebrate and everyone is invited! The trail conditions this time of year are unknown though the base of the trail is unseasonably dry. We assume that the top will have some snow on it which could make the rock garden "fun".
Info: Spring Creek Jeep trail is an 8 rated off road trail if you do all the obstacles and a 6 or 7 if you use the bypasses.
Directions: To get to the trail take I-70 to the Downieville exit (234) which is just past Idaho Springs. Take the frontage road on the North side of the highway which passes under the highway turn left on Alvarado Road. Cross the bridge and take a left the trail is straight ahead. When you get to the fork in the road go left to the wall obstacle right to bypass it. Follow the trail till you find the metal sign that says Spring Creek and follow the trail up the hill.
We'll meet at the trail head at 9am. Hope to see you all there.
Matt
