For some reason all of a sudden people who have business' on the net think that either my penis is too small, doesn't last long enough, or I'm in the stock market.

Well two things, I've been with the same woman for almost 30 years, so :dunno:......and my mutual fund managers play with the stock market, not me.

How do I filter out stuff like C1alis, stox, spurm, etc? Nortons not cutting it.

Any sugestions?

What e-mail do you use?

I have gmail and it has spam filtering. You can select one of the offending messages and mark it spam. Any message from that address will be automatically redirected to the spam mailbox.

You will need to set up filters in whatever e-mail program you use. Outlook, Eudora, Hotmail, Yahoo... you name it. They all have this functionality.

One thing, don't "Click here to remove yourself from this list". Most of the time, this just lets the spammers know that your e-mail address is active and could lead to more :spam:.

Another tip. Don't put your e-mail address in threads on this (or any) BBS. Web crawlers will find it and send you spam. Instead write it out like this.

me at home dot com or
me home com ( you add the rest)

Just make it so it's not the standard [email protected]. That way a web crawler won't find it but an intuitive person could still decipher your e-mail address.

On a serious note, I don't get any. I run my Email through my Outlook as well as run Norton IS and Spysweeper in the background. I don't recall adjusting any settings with either of the three programs.

I used to get a lot of spam untill I started opening the emails up instead of just deleting them. They all should have a link at the bottom that says "unsubscribe" or "remove me" or something similar and you just clock on them and you are removed from their mailing list.

If you are using netscape use the filters, you just enter in key words for subj:, appears in body, sender, I'm probably runnin about 400 filters now and send it directly to the trash.
