There was SOME discussion of it a couple years ago, but not much chatter since. I figure with NAXJA bigger, and the popularity of "Deadwood" that SD is a little more in the public awareness.

I have some relatives which have moved to Sioux Falls (SE) and I'll be making the obligatory visits on occasion. What kind of wheeling is within 3 hours of Eastern SD?? Badlands? Deadwood? There has to be some awesome runs out in those parts!

Those in the know... I needs to know.

Thanks,

Weasel....i'm heading out to the Badlands in 13 days for some camping. I plan to take a days ride through the Black Hills enroute to Devil's Tower.

Can you recommend some easier trails in the area with good scenery etc? Any other must see/do's while i'm in the area?

Appreciate any help..

Go thru the BlackHills National forest
There are literley TONS of Fire trails and old Mining roads

Get a local area map
Baretta road is a good trail...just kinda outside of RapidCity...From 90 follow the signs to Custer State park/needles hwy on the bottom of a hill after the business dist you'll see a street sign for Baretta Road turn onto it trail head is in a little ways

I like doing fire trails outside Custer State Park just into BHNF one of my favorite trails is off Lower FrenchCreek road... Take ANY numbered dirt trail off there...tons of fun

Needle's Highway and 16A are good senic routes, highway though. As for trails like said above, there are numerous open forest roads to play on. Berreta road is ok, just a dirt road really. Thats a local shooting area.
