'm seriously thinking of moving out to this area. Right now im thinking boulder. I have no desire to live in massachusetts any longer than i have to. This area is too up tight and theres a real poor area right next to my town and the violance is leaking over to our town with bad results. It's also hella expensive to live around here. A studio apartment will be around $800.00 a month... and it isnt a good one ether.

From what i can see, colorado has all ive been looking for; a small town feel, but a big town selection of everything you need. Its nice and outdoorsy and there is lots of places for me to jeep, fish, and live comphterbly. I have almost 100% decided on moving here within the next 2 years.

I just have a cupple questions.... fist being that im a tech guy . I work as a computer repair guy right now but am trying to get a job in netword administration of say a buisness or of a school.. how is the technology field in that area? How would you rate the quality of life in this area? I really want to live in a place where crime is at a low because its on the rise over here and i dont like what i see.

thanks for reading. i appreciate the replies.

Boulder, while it has a few "normal" people, is mostly a bunch of tree-huggin' liberals. We have a saying about boulder "12 square miles surrounded by reality".As for the other questions someone else will have to chime in.

Can't comment on the tech side of things however yeah, Boulder would be a nice place to live, quality of life would be great. However it isn't exactly cheap either. One of the more expensive, if not the most expensive city outside the Denver area.

The fishing though.........oooh yeah.

so what other places would you recomend? i think i want to stay east of the moutains from what i see. looks like the west is more deserty and the east is more woodsy.

I suppose I can comment a LITTLE on the tech side, after all CU is obviously out there IBM is in Boulder and I believe Level 3 is still in Broomfield just a little south of Boulder. Hey, I recommend it, I wouldn't discount it. Definitely look in that area first as it would have all you need.

I think the quality of life in the Front Range from Boulder down to the Springs is pretty darn good.

For me..... the trade off of a good paying job for a not so good paying job to live here would be worth it.

It is worth it, I moved from Texas to Colorado in 2002

Just moved from Saint Louis to Woodland Park. I love it. It's a small town but I can go into Springs if I can't find what I need here. Kick a$$ fishing in several sections of Gold Medal water. The weather rocks. My wife and I don't think the cost of living is that bad. This town is definitely more expensive than some of the ones like Divide and Florrisant that are a bit further out. We're renting a big a$$ house right now for $825 and we'll buy this summer. I am SOOOOOO happy I finally did it. I talked about it and drove across Kansas for 5 years.

ROFLMAO !!

Now that I've picked my self up from the floor and (mostly) have stopped laughing...

CO sounds like a great move, I like the place, the folks are cool and the scenery is outstanding.
One drawback about everybody moving there though, is that everybody is moving there ;)
I've met more Wisconsinites in CO than WI :D

That does seem to be true though. I hardly ever run into anyone that's a native. I work with a few people that are from the Denver area and such but most came here for the job.
