Some Good Venders

Thought I would pass on some thoughts I had with some great venders and would say if you are looking at getting Axles or Driveshafts this is who I would go to.

First off if you are looking for Alloy Axle shafts I would go to Ten! Most of the people working there came from another company that was just sold to some asian company. I had a axle shaft from the former company, they gave me a full warrenty, yes it was not even there own Ten product!
I know you might be thinking "well if it was so good why did it break?" and that is a good point, but the part did not break, it just twisted a little, I blew up the hub into 50 parts at the same time. You can see the small twist in the axle:

Ten has a ten year warenty on the axle shafts, and if you don't drive like me you will not need the warrenty.

Next if you are looking at driveshafts go to Tom Woods. I have the same TEN 35 spline axles in the rear of my junk, I caught a rock in my wheel well and it stoped the tires, broke the drive shaft at the CV. I sent back the axle with a gift certificate I won at Sierra Fest (Well Ed won it) thinking that would cover the cost and I would just have to pay to have it shipped back. They called me when the drive shaft got there and said the caps broke and it was coverd under warrenty, they will put a brand new CV on it fix the other parts that I beat up and ship it back to me with the certificate on Tom Woods dime.

Get a Woody drive shaft:

I don't get anything for posting this, and they have already shipped my products back to me. I just think we need more venders like this, so help me keep them in business and buy from them!

Thanks Dave!

Its good to hear about companies that stand behind their products.

Also remember that Tom Woods heavily sponsored our raffle at this years SierraFest!

Yeah I was shocked to see how much he gave for the raffle, looks like you did some nice phone work Opie! :worship:

Bring this one back to the top.

Tom Woods is a great vendor to deal with. I have had problems with my rear driveshaft centering yokes (mostly because I never grease the damned thing). Called up Tom Woods and got 2 greasable centering yokes for $125 shipped. They have a custom designed center yoke with the center weep hole omitted and a bronze bushing in place of the small needle bearings. We'll see how well these hold compared to the Car Quest brand yokes I blew out.

Another place I can fully recommend it Alco Iron & Steel in San Leandro. At the corner of Davis St. and Doolittle Dr. in Oakland. No round tube, but they got a small scrap yard and just about any size & type new box tube. Free cuts, good prices, and they are open Saturdays until noon.

Nice! Being open on Saturdays is huge for me.

Jeff Mello runs Tow Wood's driveshafts. I want to beat Jeff Mello. I'm going to run Tom Wood's driveshafts.

Tom Woods was great to deal with for my rear shaft and I too won a gift certificate at SierraFest, so it looks like I will be calling about a front shaft soon. I would also like to say that RuffStuff kicks ass also. I guess that Dan is one the few who "gets it" when it comes to running a business. There is always somewhere else to get your parts from and most of the time the prices are so similar that the only difference is customer service. whenever I've have a question, Dan has taken the time to answer it, even though I'm sure has has a million other things going. Make somebody feel important and they will always come back to you for their parts. Oh yeah, in Fresno, Vince at Fearless Gear has great service!

I agree, Dan is a great vendor to deal with.
Another I have to put up here is polyperformance. Limit straps, DOT brake lines, shock parts, you name it. Last two times I've ordered, the shipment came the next day. Super quick service.
