hey guys, well, i'm practicing my welding and bending skills now so that in time ill be able to do some real fabrication..

after i make my project jeep ready for the street, i want to start making "ol' red" my Trail Only rig. and the first part of that will be chopping the top and making it a full cage [kind of like C-Rock except not quite as, well, good.

here are some prelim. drawings of what i hope to come to fruition in the future. i dont plan on starting anytime soon, i just want to do some REAL planning before hand, considering the degree of safety involved in a cage..

here are some pics of a quick drawing [hand drawn] of what i have so far. id just like to hear what you people have to say, since you all seem to know FAR more than i do about this sort of stuff.

id like to know:
what is good about it
what is bad about it
what should be added
what can be removed [i want it to be as light and cheap as possible without sacrificing safety]

well, here they are.. they aren't the best, my camera is a cheapo one so it tends to distort images..

yea, i was thinking about that, i just hadnt decided yet whether i want easy access to the back, or if i want to keep the back seats in for possible passengers.. i would probably do a drivers side diagonal if anything though

yeap, thanks. in my head [you cant see it in the drawing because, well, you cant see it, heh] it will most likely come in front of the vent all the way straight down [leg room shmeg room right] and attach to the rocker panel's crossmember.
