well i swear you guys are the state with the most twisty and straight roads. well everythings still a go with leaving pa the 4th.. getting into denver the 7th. the thing is i dont start work untill the 18th so im going to have some time to check things out and get in some skiing. I wouldnt mind traveling around and seeing what i can. I see all the 4wd roads.. are these going to be a no-go in november. so should i plan on sticking to the highways?

I don't see you getting in any skiing before Nov. 18th....I have been the weekend before Thanksgiving before, but thats it. Some resorts *may* be open the weekend before that...

copper says they are opening the 3rd. im being as hopefull as they are.
if they do open, just don't get your hopes up. usually only a run or two is open and you basically combat ride. WAY to many people on a few runs. Loveland and A-Basin will probably open mid October so consider those as well if you must get a day or two in.

I'd be sticking to the highways.

copper started making snow today. A guy from vail was here the other day picking up some plow blades that we modify for use at the resort and said they are going to start blowing snow soon aswell.

it's the snow plow blades to the snowcats that do the grooming up there.
They bought a few of these things and now the company that makes the plow blades went out of buisness. So they buy the closest ones they can and we cut off and refab the mounting setups to them. The company I work for years ago had the contract that installed and welded up all the ski lifts there. We do all kinds of random jobs for them. Some how the owners know some big wigs up there at vail.

It's damn cold enough to make snow in these part. The Mount Daly and Capitol Peak have tons of snow on them. Looks like mid-winter in the higher elevations of the Elk Mountains.

One word of caution: the extreme cold we recieved over the weekend destroyed the autumn colors. Bummer.

o i thought you were talking about like plow blades for trucks not the ones on groomers. good pabloconrad the best part of fall is winters next !

WEll we've done those aswell for them. Not for the town of vail but for the resort it's self. made some changes and shorted a few for sidewalk removal use. THey mount on the front of 4wheelers.
