so explain to me...

his insurance won't do it that way,

and i'm not going to tell my insurance anything, i don't need it going up.

so the centerline looks a lot like it, i'm only worried about the contour of the rim

You insurance shouldn't go up from a comprehensive claim. Assuming you have full coverage.

But as long as he's getting you a wheel and a new set of tires he's doing better than most around here would do.

he does have insurance, it would pay for my bed, a new wheel, and a replacement retread,

but that takes 1.5 - 2 months and i dont have that much time.

in addition, i don't want to have nashville recaps when i'm living in oregon.

so he's buying me a brand new set of tires and a wheel. so he'll be out 1200$ from his pocket just to make me happy because i don't have enough time here to go through his insurance.

shitty thing is, i'm not finding a wheel that will ship before december this year.
gonna have to call direct to centerline tomorrow.

Sounds like the guy is owning up and doing the right thing. Do you think this was just a fluke Joe? Would you still not recommend them?

i think i will still buy them for my jeep in the future, and maybe a tow rig, but there's a trial period, and with me moving back to oregon, this just isn't the right time for me to have recaps on the truck,

Got the new tires , have to order a wheel monday and take him the receipt for reimbursement,

wheel will have to be made and sent to oregon,

Bought a bed off CL,

Kind of like it solid blue with no flares

Ive had first hand experience with some retreads coming apart on a truck. We have a dodge dakota at the office (My old dakota we sold) I still drive it at the office though and it had retreads on it. Driving down the freeway one day when I heard a loud bang and about lost control of my truck. I never run retreads now unless it is a strictly trail rig that wont be seeing freeway action.

Did you get them local in Charlotte?

I too ran Treadwrights for a year and never had a problem. Drove it all across the state a number of times whether it be mountain trips last winter or beach trips this past summer. Not to mention the 6 hour trip to, at, and from the Crawl this summer as well. Guess it all depends on where you get them from and who did the work.

I think that treadwright does a better job than most local places. I had treadwrights and I also saw Joe's retread. There was an obvious difference. Joe's looked like a hair piece that was out of place on a bald guy. My treadwrights looked almost 100% legit.

Yeah my treadwrights were very legit....fooled a lot of people. You really had to look up close to tell they were recaps.

Anyways, glad everything worked out (or will eventually) for you Joe.

Honestly I forgot where they got the tires from because at the time that I was driving the truck it was already owned by the company and I wasnt paying attention to the tires really. They deffinately weren't treadwrights though. It was like some major sketch looking tires that looked cheap to begin with. I do miss that dakota though.....

My dad had a BFG come apart and destroy the side of his F250 from the bed all the way up to ripping the mirror off. They offered him a new tire, He said "are you kidding? look at my truck!" They took the tire, did an "investigation" and decided that the tire had been overloaded at some point during it's life which caused the failure, total compensation $0. You lucked out.
