So Cal desert rats

So I got my browndog motor mounts and transmission mount installed last night. What a pain in the but that was! The worst part is the last step was to secure the transmission mount to the crossmember, well my very last bolt I snapped off! So what do you think three bolts ok or should I redo the transmission mount? As far as the test drive the vibes are pretty good at idle and if you smash the gas peddle but any other condition I actually felt it was smoother than before. Anyways I hope these mounts live up to their rep cause I never want to do that again!

Four is better, but three will work for as long as three will work. You can fix it if it becomes a problem or if Your in there for something else.

I ran a O.E. one for a year or two with 3 bolts...

So the B.Dog mount bolt broke ??

No it wasn't the b.dog mounts, they don't make a transmission mount. It was a autoparts generic mount. I couldn't really find any kind of heavy duty transmission mount. The only reason I am considering changing it now is I might be able to get the autoparts store to give me a new one. Well see, if they won't exchange it then ill leave it. After a little more drive time I am already starting to not notice the vibes at idle that much, you get used to it.

I don't know if it fits the ax15 or not. I had one in my last XJ, that plus poly motor mounts and you feel every engine vibe there is. I had no interior or hatch though so it didn't really bother me. I would not recommend it for a daily driver but if you can deal with the vibes it's a nice solid piece.

If your motor mounts are in good shape the trans mount will last years and years. the trans mount rips when the motor mounts fail because that lets the drivetrain twist, tearing the trans mount rubber up.

thanks, i'm fairly picky about noises and vibes, i guess i'll stick with stock for now. Might do the brown dog rubber motor mounts though...

I have the brown dog rubber mounts and they are awesome. I drive like an a-hole :eyes: and when I mash the gas instead of the motor moving under the hood the whole jeep leans, feels good man :gee:

Where did everyone go?
