So Cal desert rats

This is cool, all mechanical, no need for air or DC.

The OX Locker works off the simple mechanism of push/pull. It locks and unlocks for your driving needs. Unlock for highway driving, lock for tough terrain and rock crawling. Locker engagement is provided by using our super durable manual shifter Jeep parts assembly. Built using billet machined aluminum and steel components. Easy and sure shift action leaves no doubt when you are locked up. This will feed through our custom designed aerospace quality cable system.

What does that bad boy cost? I need one of those!

At Morris 4X4 center for a d-30 it's 784.99. The best price I saw was 750.00, but You also need the cable and pull handle.

O that ain't cheep! I think when it comes time I will be doing a lunch box locker in the rear and maybe save up for something like that in the front

lunchbox should go in the front... Selectable in the rear.

after driving in the snow, i think i'd want selectable in both. an unlocked front tracks sooooo much better. same with off camber loose sandy areas.

true, but if he is only getting one selectable, it should go in the rear.

Actually if your going to run a locker in front on a Jeep for the road, other than a lunchbox, either hub disconnects or a selectable locker would be needed.

I have Detroits FRT. & REAR and I like them. They have been in about 8YRS. I have had mine in the snow one time seemed to work OK but that's not much of a test. Aaron has the lunch-box in the FRT. of his and it makes alot of noise when it unlocks so you may not want to put one in the rear but in the FRT Aaron's seems to work good.

On Yours Aaron (2), a lunchbox F & R would be fine with the size tires You run.

I have one on each wheel... semi select-able... :D 5 if you count the one in the T-case... :wierd:

Been running the Powertrax No Slip for... 10 yrs. and an Aussie up front for about 3 yrs. The Aussie sounds like it's coming apart from all the banging and clanging... it works though... I also have hubs... not as nice as Bill's though...

If & when I do it again I'll probably go with the Eaton E-Locker F & R...

The OX is a cool set up and my friend with the gray Grand has them at both ends... they are tough... folks have issues with the cables and their adjustment... they also have a pneumatic & I believe a elect. actuators.

No hurries Aaron II...

I guess I need to do some reading on lockers, cause I am confused now :what: I need to learn the terminology so I know what you all are talking about, i used the "lunchbox" locker term earlier without really knowing what I was saying.

A lunchbox is installed inside the stock carrier. When I see You again I'll explain How it works, too much for typing. A full locker replaces the stock carrier. I had a locker in the front of my f-250, going on to a hard surface and turning would cause the tires to Bark and the front end to Buck something fierce. One tire is turning more than the other in a turn, causing the above, and putting the axles in jeopardy and making it handle like crap.

who's jeep is the one with the neon green diff covers? saw that one rolling around this weekend. think i saw tone as well, if his is the jeep with the fiberglass fenders.

That was Me with the green, if You ever see them above the Jeep, Help. lol
