The wife gave me the go ahead on buying bumpers.....I told her its a safety thing! :DSo I just ordered the DIY front winch bumper and rear bumper from Dirt Bound Offroad! At 20% off and self pick up it came to 564! Good deal for two bumpers! My friend brad, some of you have met, lives in LA where I am picking the bumpers up and will help me weld it all together!

Guy wanted $160 I pulled out $60 cold hard cash and he took it :D if anyone needs to use it let me know..

Then before work today I went out off of ave 62 was just open desert and started heading up towards the mtn and it runs into "Boo Hoff" trail? Idk if it's off limits but we followed a dirt road the whole way down and didn't see any signs that said no motor vehicles so we kept going...

Anyone ever been back there? Curt?

All the pics that I took.

But the road back there is perfect no rocks and nice and smooth! I think it goes all the way up in to the mountains and hooks into LQ cove area, when I turned around and was coming back I saw a BLM charger and decided not to ask questions or stop so I got out pretty quickly! (just in case it is not open) anyone know bout this place?

No it's NOT open... it's either my facility Dike 4 ground water recharge facility... private or wilderness... I really doesn't get near L.Q. cove... I cruise up there to check the site out from time to time... nice job driving on the rocks tool...

Curt have you heard of this place ( Calcite Mine ) ? Cundee wants me to take her there.

Thank you

Yeah... it's just past the communication towers on S-22 at the S.D. / Imp. Co. line just west of Tr.Haven... up near the Sheep Tanks sorta... the head works of Palm Wash runs west of the road going into the mine.

It was I believe guarded during WWII due to the calcite in the area was used in the... Norden bombsite ?? I guess it made our bombing runs much more accurate ... something like that. Amazing views from up there... no real "mine" just a cut or two in the mountainside...

Curt

10-4! nice views up there though... wish it was open for play. looks like there was a parking lot up there by that VW van where the hiking trail starts/ends had a bunch of signs n stuff

What did the signs say ?? I haven't been that far up there in decades... I actually think it might be tribal lands...

Tell me... at the end of 62 was the pipe gate at the base of the dike open or closed ?? Not locked or unlocked... OPEN ??

Curt

closed/unlocked when I went down 62 to scout there was a wrangler coming out think it was charcoal LJ? after that I hiked up to the top of the gate to see what was back there and seen a water truck and a pick up out in the zert by the fence/ponds. after that i drove back by the lake and hugged the mountain all the way to the top. signs said it was BOO HOFF trail and there were signs every so often on the right that said no vehicles aloud beyond this point, foot/horse traffic only. vehicles stay on path. i stayed on path cause I don't wanna F shit up... ever seen that VW bus back there? there was another burned car too but i didn't catch what kind it was?

Cardboard proved to be too flimsy & hard to weld, will be replaced with 1/4" plate steel.
