Hey Rats,

If anyone sees a XJ with the super cool burgundy/maroon interior in the yards could you let me know? I want it for my MJ.

My jeep was having a cook off :)

(headlight switch plug)

What else are you running through that switch besides the factory lights?

Shouldn't be that hot, someting is overloading the system.
You could try putting relays in between and using the switch as trigger for the headlights only, that takes the load off of the wiring.

He had a wire that was loose on the switch, he found it when we fixed them the other night.
I should say I gave him the stuff and made him do it.He is learning how to do Elec.Did a good job too

glad you've got it fixed.

Falk that's a pretty common problem, the XJ's headlight wiring is grossly undersized, and the full power for the lights runs through the switch itself. Horrible design.

Yes there are quite a few of them available, one of the best is made by our own member jon kelley, aka 5-90. Shoot him a pm.

That's a piss poor design from the factory then, especially if somebody installs upgraded headlights with higher wattage. Put Relays in, that'll take the load of the switch.
