Sounds like you all had a good time! Tone u let scott show you up with those brand new shoes???? It was funny when I saw you this morning on your way out I almost didn't recognize your xj with the roof rack gone. Are you going to leave it that way or do you have other plans?

He would have laided it on it side with that rack on, we was running thru some stuff that was close to him flopping. At one point i had both my tires on the passangerside off the ground and was sliding on my rail and body seeing how far i could go in a trench before it stopped.I knew i was safe with tone and Aaron there to get me out.So much for the new paint guys.LOL.:)

Awesome chem-trails. Good for the lungs... I'm headed out to Joshua Tree this weekend to go camping with a buddy of mine. Not looking to do much wheelin' since we'll be in a Ford Exploder but I'd like some suggestions on camping and shootin' spots if you guys have got any.
Maybe soon I'll have my cherokee back in action and I can come out and break some more stuff with you guys.

P.S. I'm about to build some more bumpers if you guys are interested... Let me know.

shooting out there you need to ask when you hit the gate. Before you pull them out ask.Camping i don't go there to camp.I hate to pay for camping when it is my tax dollar keeping it open.LOL.
I'm looking for a CHEAP roof rack.I mean CHEAP when i say CHEAP.:)

Well, I'll get the shooting done before we enter the park than. As far as your roof rack goes, I'll have to wait until I'm ready to build myself a rack to keep the material costs down.
Speaking of which, do you guys know anyone who would want to buy my XJ? It's an '89 4x4, AW4, 4.0l with only 150k, good tires, everything works. I need a pickup for work and this Jeep isn't cutting it any more. Can't load a motorcycle in the back. I'm looking to get around $1500 for it. I'm pretty sure that's a decent price for something with that kind of mileage. Let me know if you guys know anyone. I'll be putting it up on the classifieds soon.

I'd take Hwy. 62 through the towns of Yucca, J.Tree and past 29 Palms to Gold Crown Rd. which is S. of Hwy.62... lots of mines & stuff... areas to shoot... no NEED for 4WD (side trips sure) keep heading S. and it'll turn into the Old Dale Rd. and take you through the mining district that is just N. of the park... continuing S. on the Old Dale Rd. will run you into the park then out to pavement, past the visitors center and down Cottonwood Cyn. out to I-10 E. of Indio... then head home. Going this way you probably won't NEED a park pass... aka $$ unless a ranger stops you.
Reversing the route is fine, but you might get stopped by a Ranger cause you're more "visible"... entering from the N. at Gold Crown still puts you outside the park for awhile.

Search up Old Dale Mining District... Gold Crown Rd., Zulu Queen Mine, Arlington Mine, Rose Queen... there are MANY out there...

curt they havent open the road yet have they?(Cottonwood)

Ah... that might be true... still not sure why it would be closed... PUSS'S
In that case...
Once back on pavement heading S. coming up on the visitors center actually about right across from it... Pinkham Wash Trail... on the passenger side... take it... it heads W...SEVERAL miles later the wash turn to the south S. and start to get narrower... continue out to the VERY nice graded road... head E. a few mile and it'll get near the freeway & a on ramp (across the freeway is a tan building)
Get on the freeway here and head home...

OR ! Just go in & out at Gold Crown... I HATE retracing my steps... might be easier though.
