So Cal desert rats

Glad to hear you are out playing like a kid Scott! One of these days I will grow some balls and take my truck out for some fun again! I tell myself I can just go out and cruise around but I also know myself too well and I will most surely push it too far. Money is too tight for going too far right now. I need to fix what problems I have already!

This is why i'm going son. Can't beat this price for getting out of the house for a couple of hours.

Robbie Knievel will be jumping the 200 feet of 25 cars at 4 p.m. Saturday at Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella. Admission is free

My plans have changed. Not making this after all.My grandson has got a night game in PS an i'm going to it.They haven't lost a game this season and they are invite to the games in Las Vegas this year. This is a first year team and they came out kicking butt..13 yrs old and at 190 he is a big boy. Can't wait to see him in the play offs.

Did you get it done tone? Work better now?
I got them brakes fixed on the son inlaws truck.I can free wheel from dillion to my street now. Man what a pain in the but.But i know how to adjust them brake boosters now.1/16 turns to get it.LOL.

Well I got me some bad news this eve...
My Ex-step father passed away around 1800 hrs.
Fortunately he didn't linger long... (28 days).
He was a true friend in every sense of the word... he was the one who got me into the 4 wheeling aspect of my life... more for fun as opposed to getting to a hunting spot. Also through him I was able to meet several folks who started the sport back in the late forties and were pioneers in 4 wheeling... he was the ONE I would call at 0100 to come tow me home or "save" me... :twak:

I'm relieved he was able to move on and not linger too long... I'm sure if he'd had it his way it would of been even shorter... I'm upset at him for the way he abused his body & mind, but can respect that he lived as he wanted... for himself and no one else...

He was the oldest kid I knew and up until a few years ago was always into mischief... blow'n shit up & trying to find the best load for our various guns...
We use to play polo with a refrigerator with the FJ & CJ on the runways at Thermal airport... Good Times...
We had a decades long argument... Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40 vs JEEP CJ-5 and Miroku O/U vs Winchester 101 O/U...

R.I.P. Warren, thanks for considering me your son...thanks for everything... I'll miss you and our escapades...

Curt

Sorry to hear curt.We know he is in a better place, where the roads are open and he is free to wheel when and where he wants.Sorry for your loss.

Got a late start but we got it almost done today. He works graveyard so he went home to sleep. We fixed his brake lights by installing a new blinker switch and then started on the rock rails. So here we go.
We started with a nice flat plate drilled and painted it black awhile ago.

Then we layed out where we wanted the stuff on the plate

removed the old paint and went to town.

After that we cut and welded some metal to fit.

Not bad for half a day.We got them all spot welded into place and we'll finish the welding next week.Going to look nice when it is all said and done. Now he can follow us anywhere.LOL.He wife doesn't want any dents, like we get dents.

Got a wild hair up my ass yesterday so after work I went out to truckhaven to see how well the new tires do in the dirt... No pics.

I tried to do that run we did at night Scott and I couldn't find the way but I did find 100' cliff of death, it's not that scary until you get out and look to see then backing up is the fun part! It sucks not having the light bar on cause now I can't see!

Tires hook up nice on everything!

New obstacle at the off road park too... 20' wall with a 30* angle, gonna need a rock buggy for this one!
