Scott, I might have a 72-73 bug not sure on year? A guy I work with said he was gettin rid of, I told him I'd give him $200 for it he said he'd think about it... Comes with engine/trans/shell, This is where you come in since your the bug guy! The engine/trans are gonna need a rebuild I would guess, is that something that is do-able at the rats nest or is that a bigger project then I think? What do you think it would run me in parts if you had to guess? Reason I wanted to buy it was to DD and slowly turn it into a toy so my jeep wouldn't be getting tore up on DD driving.

What do you think?

If he has a clean title for it doooo it. Bug stuff is cheap and you can rebuild the whole car with a socket set ol. As long is the pan is solid you can fix anything else cheap and easy. I miss my bugs.

Just found out that it was never non-op'ed so that might hold me up cause i don't wanna pay a grip of DMV fees just to get this thing legal not to mention the work it's gonna take...

Tone, i think you offered to much...You'll need to buy a motor and all the tin and stuff..Go back and tell him you'll tow it away for free...

HOLY CHIT:scared:..It has a 8TRACK in it stillllllllllllll..Now thats to F*&KING funny right there..I have 8 tracks...

It has a engine Scott it's just out of the car, he was gonna get it rebuilt then never did. Tags were up this year just found out...

I say get it man. Bug motors are super simple, you can rebuild it on a bench and probably lift the damn thing up on the bench yourself. I used to take all the bolts in the bellhousing out and call a buddy over and we'd lift the car off the motor lol.

I don't have any pics of my old cars, you can thank my ex-wife/succubus/whore/etc. etc. for that one. I've had 3 67s, a 52 with orignal semaphores that still worked, a 69, and a 62. I used to race em when I lived in ohio up at Milan dragway outside of Detroit Michigan. The last one I had was an all steel 67 with a 3110 in it that would pull the wheels off the ground in 3rd gear. that motor lasted about 8 months then I blew the crank apart when I missed a shift racing a bmw m3 on the edge of town. good times :D

The only good thing about that being a 71-72 is the rear end will be IRS vs swing axle, so you can slam it to the ground and not worry about bad camber burning up tires when you drive it every day. That and the fact that it will be smog exempt and you can do whatever the F you want to the motor :D :D :D

One year is not bad, put a non-opp as soon as You get it. Like Mike said, easy engines to work on. I've done them in the driveway and in clean rooms, they all ran great. No smog is a plus, many more options. Those transmissions last, syncro teeth and rings are easy to get, so are gears. And cheep.

I feel like shit I drank too much jäger and now I'm paying for it this morning at work! FML I wanna sleep this off so I'm going into a confrence room :)

we used to call those "safety meetings" when I was working construction. we'd head into the job trailer and 4 or 5 of us would just sit around the conference table and pass out still drunk :D

Safety meetings are fun, after I finish up here in the bathroom for my 8th time since 6am I have another safety meeting to go to for a hour :)

Yea feeling good now ate some kids birthday cake re-upped and now I just got back home gonna medicate then take a nap and maybe go over to the rock yard for AC/DC or whoever is playing. If I get up in time that is...
