So Cal desert rats

I bought a carb today for the chevy. Holy Crap!!! Last time I got a carb for a V8 was in the 70's. $490.00 and some change. NAPA

Well it runs, but I can't put the stock air cleaner on. Fuel inlet is in the way, need a banjo or something. It came with a 'Ball' for the throttle cable, mine uses a pin. So I made the ball into a pin.
But I am a bit concerned now, finishing up I discovered there is no place for the kick down for the trans. I need to call tomorrow and double check this part number. Gaads!

Does it have the spot to mount your old one? Plus you need to drill holes in the bottom for more air, did this on the old ford an it gave me almost a gallon more(MPG)..8.5 MPG in that truck was good..LOL..But this was with a 30' 5th wheel in the back..(1973 5th wheel was heavy back then)

Huh?

Called Edelbrock, I need a banjo for the fuel. I also need a 3/4" spacer for the air cleaner AND a kick down pin for the linkage. Won't have them till thursday. Bolt up. But it runs, I got all the vacuum lines run, and the air/fuel for idle set. It runs 347% better.:dunce: It's a damned Weber, I can't seem to get away from them.

I'll flip the lid. Pic's:

Ready to go, just need those specific parts. Thursday. Should be gold plated instead of zinc.:viking:

Change of subject... any of you guys gonna do the road trip Saturday and come to the Jeep picnic at Fiesta Island in San Diego's Mission Bay? C'mon, you know you want to.... cool air, salt water, Jeeps, peeps, family, dogs, friends, food, people trying to disguise any alcoholic beverages as something else...
