Dude get a weekend off and this could be done real easy...This is the nicest camp site in TH..The mayor takes good care of it..LOL.. He took us around to a bunch of places, i think i can still find alot of them..:dunno:

Also picked up a complete 29 spline 8.25 with 29k original miles for CHEAP! Tone/Paul/anyone want to help me swap axles in the next couple days?
 
Lookin good man, put a lock on it so no one jacks your jack :) you should put the locker in while the axel is out it would be easier... I have today n tom off but only have a 1/4 tank of gas that has to last me till I get paid Friday, might be able to bum a ride that way with meg, what day you thinking bout gettin er done? If you can wait till next week it would be best for me cause I'll have money for gas, but Ill help as long as I'm not working :)
 
any idea how hard of a job it is? is it something you and i could do with my limited amount of tools? if its pretty easy, I have gas money + cold beer.

If i don't get it done before Friday, I'm going to pay Jeeperjohn to do the swap... either way, I'm having him put the lockers in. Just wanted to get a jumpstart on the axle and maybe save some money.

EDIT: PS. my jack is locked... hard to see in the pic, but its on the front bracket.
 
Floor jack, jack stands x2, and a wrench to get the ubolts off, then the brake lines need to come off I'm not sure but it should just plug in to the new axel, and drive shaft should bolt in... Someone chime in if I'm wrong?
 
Hey Captain: I swapped my axles mostly by myself. The rear was definitely easier, since there's fewer parts to worry about. Are the e-brake lines attached to the new axle already? I thought I could switch the cables myself and decided I didn't even want to try once I looked at what it would take. The rest is easy and I'm sure you can do it. You can probably do the e-brake lines too, I just didn't have much confidence in my ability to do it.
 
everything is attached now, but i do have to swap the brake line with my extended line. Tone and I are going to give it a shot tomorrow.

Tone here you go..I took front and back of rad for you..I have not and will not paint it for you..I did check it for leaks when you dropped it off, i found no leaks at that time..

I try to do all my work by myself, found it is easy for somebody not to tighten stuff..(TONE)..It is nice for the extra hands on lifting the heavy stuff..Should only take you a hour or two to change that axle..Took me 30 min to pull mine for curt to install bushing in it after i had surgery..I just didn't lift it ..Good luck, if you need a hand just smile and yell for me..

Can You imagine having to hand hold this puppy? I spoke to Ma about what to do if this thing grabs Me...LOL, $hit.

WELL CHIT..I'm sitting here drinking some mud when the dog starts to bark, i go over to see a couple of guys walking down my street..I think this is odd..So i watch and they walk away, then i hear this big A$$ thing coming down the road..They're GRADING my street..WTF..I go out an ask them WTF are you doing? They say they're grading the road what does it look like.. So i said you guys aren't doing this street till next MONTH..HOW am i going to get that BIG trailer out of here now?:twak:..
They laugh and said OH CHIT you're right.. :doh:..
