"small tubing bender" Spring looking thing

Found this "Spring-Type Tube Benders"
"Spring type benders with 'funnel' ends let you make smooth, no-kink bends in small diameter brass, copper and aluminum tubing. Simply insert tubing into spring, make your bend, and then slide spring off."

I guess it's that simple. :D
This is going to be awesome for my right front brake line lots of tight places.

I would do a few practice bends with scrap tubing. I use the pliers with the little dies, it works ok for getting close, but i still end up using my thumbs to complete the bend.

master the thumb bending, your work time will be cut drastically. also sockets come in handy for making tight precise bends.

edit, just watched the vid. you can do that without wasting your money on that stupid spring, if you put your thumbs in the same position as the guy in the video had them you will not kink the tubing when you bend it by hand.

Well if it is truly pointless I'm out 2$. I think that's worth trying something for more even bends. A lot of companies sell these so I would assume there is some point.
Looks like it's an HVAC thing.

not saying its pointless, just don't expect it to work 100% bitchin for every situation. You will still need to fine tune for every application.

I used a set to bend 1/2" copper tubing for my OBA. It works okay but the tube did flatten a bit when bending 90* or more, also the more the bend you have in the tube the more of a PIA it is to remove the tool. To say the least I returned the set once my project was finished because I didn't like how it performed. There are much better options.

I was gonna say dont be so cheap, buy the actual plier-handled bender... it cant be more than... $20?

BUT THEN, someone admits to returning a $2 tool, that they have allready used.... WOW. Karmas a bitch, and i wouldnt dare take that hit for $2.... i wouldnt drive to my bank for $2.... <- said in jest.

I bought a plier handled bender as well just saw this and thought what the heck.

If you're really cheap you can just pull the rubber off your door stop spring and give it a go. :D

I ended up just doing everything by hand except one bend into the prop valve. I think I'll return my 2$ tool :P.

Keep your panties on okay.

1st of all I didn't buy the crappy tool from H.F., it cost me closer to $15 (Don't remember the actual amount) from my local hardware store, yes over priced but I live in a small town and there were no other options for the size of tubing I was bending.

2nd when I returned the shitty tool I made them more than aware I used it and was dissatified with the tools performance after one of their sales reps said it works like a charm, they willingly took it back.

So chill out.
