A couple of uneducated people drove thru the meadow on Slick Rock last Saturday. There will be a workday to repair the damage Saturday the 30th, followed by a potluck meal. Meet at the Alpine staging area 10AM Saturday July the 30th. Bring saws, shovels, winches, chain, Safety gear, glasses, gloves, rakes and boots. I can’t make I will be at the Jamboree that weekend, wish I could go!

People must learn to tread lightly or the trails will be shut. This thread is a good reminder, but more often that not, those who willfully destroy trails and open lands do not participate in organized clubs with the Tread Lightly program. This is why they all need to be shot.

Look for me next weekend on the Rubicon during the jambo. I'll be in the red XJ on 33's.

Yea they should have been shot! I was camped ate Utica Thursday thru Sunday and never saw a side by side. If I had seen these fools tearing up the meadow I believe I would have chased them down.
I am doing the 3 day run for Jamboree, I have a blue XK on 35’s with CORVA sticker on the bumpers, see you at the Jamboree!

that sucks. those jerks.
was that giant rock that those guys winched over towards the end of last summer still there? i heard it got moved to the bottom of the stair steps?

Not sure what rock you are talking about. The ladder is doable but tougher than last year; the by-pass is seeing a lot of use. The big tire guys are climbing on all the rocks clear down to the flat between the ladder and creek.
The Camp ground at Utica has construction going on. They cut a new road at the boat launch and placed a culvert over the creek, so there is more camping. When the construction is complete (maybe the end of next year) the will be designated camp sites with tables and fire rings along with an $8.00 fee.. Until then it’s business as usual.

wow. there was a giant boulder some guys winched right into the middle late august from the off trail last year. we ran out to get beer at lake alpine and coming back up there was a giant boulder right in the middle that wasnt there 45 mins earlier. havent been up there since late august 2010. was wondering if its still there...

That's great.

I'm glad the repair is happening.

SUCH bs. I saw the damage, not cool.

People like that live near me = ZERO open trails in Humboldt CO.
