Shifter options?

I've been looking but have yet to find a aftermarket shifter for an AX-5 for an XJ application. Anyone know of any?.... maybe I'm just not looking at the right places?

There are none. The AX-15 has a different pattern. I was in contact with Hurst a few years ago and I sent them the bolt pattern of the AX-5 shifter and it did not match up with anything they were making. However, the mustang shifter was very close and could probably be machined or ground down to fit. Also check the AX-15 shifter, which is new, it may also be a slight difference. Hurst has a book that shows all the patterns and lengths and shapes of their shifters. Pep-boys has this book available for in store special orders.

Actually Hurst is just coming out with one for the XJ depending on the year. (89-99 ?? Which should cover all XJ ax-15s)

Must of been too early, now that I re read it I see that, I could of sworn I saw a 1 in front of that 5.

:D

You could always switch to one then you could get a shifter.;)

If it hadn't just been rebuilt that's what I'd be doing..... but I can't bring myself to pull it yet.
