congrats man. just paid jana's ring off saturday but i told her she can't have it yet. gotta be somewhat of a surprise lol.

We've been planning the wedding and reception for the past 2 days. UGH!

I got the easy part and it's still frustrating!

I get to plan the reception and honeymoon.

The Honeymoon is a nobrainer so that's not a problem. The reception on the other hand is driving me crazy.

As our list stands it looks like we'll have around 75 people.

There's a small mom and pops restraunt in Anderson that I like. It would be big enough I'd just have to see what it would cost to have it there (privately, of course).

Is it morally wrong to expect our guests to buy their own meal and drinks at the reception? That'd be the only way we could afford to have it at least SEEM like an expensive wedding. I can't feed steak to 75 people!

It's your wedding. If people complain about having to pay for their own meal, were they really the friends you thought they were? I'd pay for my own meal if I was invited.

Drinks should always be paid for by the drinker. That junk is too expensive to be giving it away.

FWIW,

We catered our own food and in the end it would have been cheaper to have someone cater it for us - plus, a lot less work on our end; plus we had a lot left over. I wouldn't be mad if I had to buy my own food/drinks as long as I knew it before I showed up.

Are you having the ceremony in a chapel? We did our ceremony and reception at the same place - it made everything SO much easier.

But I think we'll be ok. ive already got her wanting to convert her current 4x2 dd into a 4x4 on at least 38s when she gets her new car in sept. 8)
So I think we may be ok... lol
