shaved heads, in style now?

so i've had a shaved head (no. 1 razor) for about 6 months now, and its my cousins wedding this weekend... whats everyone's opinions about shaved heads, not like shaved totally bald, but buzzed? My parents think it looks a little "gangsta, hoodlum," but seriously its not like a wear gangster clothes. what are your opinions of people with buzzed heads?

my hair is too short to do anything else like style it, but too long to be a buzz anymore, what should i do?

I've had my head shaved, or a high and tight for the past ten years. When it is done right, it looks nice and can be professional, but when some whitetrash kid does it with his dog clipeprs, it looks like ass.

EDIT: You gotta have a decent shpaed head too. Some folks need hair so the don't embarass themselves.

Short buzzes and razor shaving seems to be the new way to deal with male pattern baldness, so it is more socially acceptable than in the past. It is your hair, dude, do what you want with it. To get cleaned up for the wedding, it sounds to me like you are due for a fresh shearing.

I've been progressing over the last couple of years from #3 to #2 to #1 buzzes with various combinations of shorter sides to a "clipper shave" or #0 currently (my favorite one yet.) I anticipate lather & razor in the springtime.

I totally agree that head and face shape determines how good the end result is... I knew a guy in college with a sasquatch-like cone head that shaved the sides and buzzed the top (I think it is called a recon) and it looked really stupid. YMMV.

The short cropped hair will be fine for the wedding...I too sport the short hair...habbit I guess....6 yrs in the Corps.

yeah my head is shaped nice, and most chicks seem to dig the "bad boy" look, i guess the parental influence is so deeply embedded in me, that the make me feel like it looks ghetto. lol.

Mine's pretty short since it has to be, but I've been considering keeping it short after I get out. Its a #3 on top with a skin fade on the sides. I'm thinking I might go with a #4 on top and fade from a #1 on the sides or something after I'm out.

Don't know what the # thing is but I generally get 3 haircuts a year, just take the clippers and buzz it off, hate paying $10 for the barber. Few years ago there was a topless [with chicks] 'Hair salon' near where I lived in NJ. Kept my hair longer then so I could have it 'shampooed' 'styled' and 'blown' That was $50 a pop

I had long hair in high school, had average hair in the Air Force, now that the male pattern baldness is getting a foothold its getting progessively shorter. Right now I'm using a #1 (1/4") and when I get a definitive bald spot going it will be BIC time.

BTW...I am fat (burly), bald (buzzed), and very goateed!

There was a guy we used to call "hotdog" , he never figured out we were refering to the rolls in the back of his shaved head that looked like a package of hotdogs!

I was going to shave my head when I rebuilt my 4.0, but I figured it was unneccessary, as my head was still in decent condition.

My hair was to the middle of my back when I had the whole rock star thing going on.

I've been shaving my head for roughly 15 years. Now it's a fad and kinda annoying. Especially since mine won't grow back now.

Mine is shaved and I love it. Dont have to mess with it if you slept on it wrong (if you care that much), and its dry in 30 seconds. Keep in mind that Im 17, so it will grow back :laugh3: so that is not an issue for me. If you do have scars on your head, they do show up, so keep that in mind.

It just occurred to me that some of us have vehicles older than some of the members here... how long before becomes an antique car club?
