No one should check out at 19. No one!

My kids are just about a few years younger than Seth, and I can't imagine the pain. God speed, Seth!

TY fellow xj'ers for showing up. I'm really proud of Seth and all of you that showed up. Loosing a child is the worst thing a parent can go through. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family.

It was quite a somber day, needless to say.The funeral procession was amazing and I felt very proud and priveledged to be a part of it.Military funerals always tug at the heartstrings- the last one I attended before this was my father's.I want to say I'm very ingraciated to all the personnel of the Honor Guard- it has special meaning to me.
Seth was awarded, posthumusly (sp?) at the funeral service, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and two other awards for valor.

Here's the few pics I snapped.

I would like to thank Seth's family for allowing us the opportunity to help them celebrate his life and for allowing us to be a part of his memorial service.

Frank, thank you for your efforts in putting all of this together, so we could be there to honor Seth, a fellow 4 wheeler, soldier and friend.

Today’s services were emotional and touching. The long motorcade to the cemetery was incredible; it was scores of vehicles long. The police escorts closed down the interstate for miles, to allow the processional to pass. The display of Jeeps and trucks carrying black ribboned flags was quite an inspirational sight.

At the graveside service, Seth’s father and grandmother thanked us for coming; his grandmother said she was glad to see all of the Jeeps there. The honor guard was sharp and paid great tribute to Seth and his family; there were no dry eyes that I saw once Taps began to play.

Seth will be missed by many and he has paid the ultimate price for all of us.

Dang guys....brought a tear to my eye just seein this.

Thanks to all those who were there to show the support from all of us at NAXJA. Another great example of the wonderful family we have here.

To Seth, RIP buddy. Thanks for making the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of us, so that we are able to live the great lives we do today.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.:us:

That was truely an impressive memorial and very moving. It was nice to see such a huge turnout by the community.

One of Seth's good friends came over to where we'd parked all the rigs and thanked us for coming and showing our support. Seth's rig was parked several rows away and his friend drove it over to the group and we motioned him over to the top of the row. It was really cool to see him do that - like he knew Seth's XJ belonged with the group. Another friend said that the family had seen our group parked together and thanked us for our support.

After the service, I spoke to Seth's good friend briefly to see if there was any pre-planned order for the procession. He said he didn't think so, "But I'm jumping in right behind the funeral cars". It was cool that our group got ready to follow him and we all made a nice line of rigs behind Seth's XJ. I'm sure the family saw and appreciated our display of support.

I took so many of the same shots already posted, so here's just a few shots that are different.

God bless you Seth, and Thank You.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of brotherhood that is involved in our sport. I never met Pfc. Stanton but I will always remember his sacrifice and the sacrifice of all those who have given their lives protecting our country. For all the other members of the military that are on this site, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Seth, you will be missed by more than you know.
Thank You

I wasn't really sure why I went today. There are other deaths of soldiers in our community, two more announced today infact. This one just seemed closer to home. We disagreed in a thread, but soon after he posted he was shipping off to Iraq. It gave so much more to his credibility. He wasn't some kid, he was a soldier going to war. I remember being in the Navy. We were so young, yet had great responsibility. Seth was a 19 year old vehicle commander. I know he knew what he was doing.

For those that don't know, Colorado Springs is a long town along I-25. The city knows Seth died recently. On the other side of the freeway there is construction and there was quite a bit of congestion. The procession passed hundreds of vehicles as it drove right through town. All I could do was add one more vehicle to the line, but I was proud to do it. Just so the city could see someone special passed. Just maybe so his family might not feel so alone with such an unbearable loss.

I paid my membership during the membership drive. The NAXJA bumper sticker has been sitting on my dresser every since. I didn't want stickers on my XJ. Today I put it on before I left the house. Now it hangs with pride.

How could we not go? I'm not saying that to disparage the people who could not attend; they mourned the same as the people who could. After attending the memorial, I had a better understanding of how Seth's passing touched so many of us.

Two significant aspects of Seth's character were highlighted today: His heart for service, and his willingness to step forward for someone else's benefit. Same character traits we saw on the boards, same character traits I witnessed today.

My condolence to the family. As a Jeeper and the parent of an 18year old soldier over there this is one thing I pray every day That I don't have to do. But also as a vet myself I am very proud of my soldier and the thousands like him who do all this to keep us all warm at night, while they are out in the cold potecting us from the things that go bump in the night. Thank you all who are over there reading this and to all that may be there one day.
