Seth Stanton memorial sticker

I'd like to share the following message that I just received from Anna Stanton, Seth's mom. I sent her a message regarding Seth's rig and a link to this thread...

Dear Frank...thank you so much for sharing this with me...I think it's absolutely amazing! Seth would be so honored...I am humbled by you and NAXJA's generosity and love that has been given to all of us during this time.
I know that many of you attended the funeral, and have sent cards...they have not gone unnoticed, as you can imagine, it's just been upside down around here for the past month...
I will keep in contact and appreciate you guys doing the same...thanks again from the bottom of my heart...it looks beautiful!!

Anna Stanton
Seth's mom

Hello,

This is Susan Stanton and I think I speak for the whole family when I say that we are overwhelmed with your support and this beautiful sticker, we would be honored to have these. You, COHVCO and Colorado 4x4 have given us great hope that Seth's memory can remain alive for years to come. You have asked a few questions:

1. I do not believe Seth's rank was changed, he did received many honors. I will verify this for you
2. For the trail improvement project, Seth liked to ride around Gold Camp Road and in the cripple creek area. I am not familiar with that area and would appreciate any advice.
3. We are working on dates this summer.

Thank you again. You overwhelm us with your support.

Susan

Outstanding job on the sticker. I'll take a couple when they are ready.

the design is great, but if your looking to change anything consider throwing in a purple heart in there somewhere

This is a great idea. I'll get with DJ and see if it can be worked into the design, however the problem we're going to run into is the multiple colors. I will be surprised if the printer can get the sticker done exactly as we have it now without having to change some color issues.

The purple heart medal itself would involve too much detail in such a small area, but maybe we could incorporate the uniform ribbon:

You might want to look for a printer that has a digital press/plotter, then the amount of colors won't be an issue and the cost should be reasonable.

If they are printing it off-set then the price of the sticker would depend on how many colors and what format they are using.

The biggest cost will be the die cutting of the stickers. If a standard shape could be used with some kind of border such as clouds or mountains, then the cost is very much reduced. If people wanted just the badge shape they could trim it with scissors before applying. There are many places, even one in Denver that do short run full color for very cheap prices with no setup fees, the catch is the standard shape issue. They have dozens of standard rectangles, circles, and such.

This is only a cost factor if the printing co. you are using is going to have put the stickers on a die cutter. Don't go to a commercial off set printer.

Find a company whose niche is vinyl signs, you shouldn't pay extra for the die cutting, no matter what shape it is. The printing (all the colors you have shown) and die cutting can all be done inline, and I bet for under a 1.00-1.50 per sticker.

These companies are a dime a dozen and shouldn't be hard to find.

Thanks for the input Tom and Phunk. We'd already considered all these things when we set up our Chapter sticker and the price point was in line with what Phunk has posted.

Once I get with our printer, I'll know more and if there's any issues, I'll be sure to post up and ask for more advice. I don't wanna get the cart before the horse and start trouble shooting problems that aren't known as of yet. The design might fly just fine as it is.

Thanks all for your interest! We'll get this going ASAP.

As usual, you are on top of it. Thanks.

I don't think that will be nesc. I believe everyone will know and understand just by looking at the sticker...Its great just the way it is.

Thanks - we steadilly agree. The sentiment of the ribbon is appropriate, but adding much more would clutter it up.
