Oh look it's the traitor that went over to the dark side! LOL J/K Mike, what you have ot do to the CJ?

Me, Lee, and Mark was the only jeeps. Andy's died before he got out of his development, came up in a vette, rode with Lee. Dale still hasn't even started on his. Mark blew a bead coming down off Beasley Knob had to change it on a 40 degree slope. I pitched the rear drive shaft at the bottom of 231 in the flat and dry spot, best place to break. Fixed the rear yoke 6 times lasted about 200' each time, then got mad a took the shaft off and said f@#k it I'll drive to the next store without it, then figured out my slip yoke doesn't go into the T/C so I can run with out the rear and not lose fluid. other than that was a great time.

Basically rebuilding the whole suspension setup. Swapped out the lift springs in the rear with stock YJ rears. Converted the front setup from 2" wide leaves (stock CJ width) to the 2.5" wide leaves from the rear (took out the 2 bottom leaves to level the ride height). Next,I've got to torch off the rear axle's spring perches and reweld a new set on there to accomodate a CV driveshaft to correct the funky angles. Need to make new shock mounts now that the ride height has been lowered to a more realistic trail-riding height. Converting the front axle to discs (the rear will come later). Put on a Big Daddy Offroad's steering box mount, and their 1.25" DOM tie rod and drag link setup with all new rod ends. Steering box brace and an XJ pitman arm. Going to install new ball joints and axle shaft u-joints while I'm in there, too. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff :dunno: but at the moment I'm not trying to think about it too much, just trying to get it done

Dangit Mark...too bad you didn't figure out you could've just pulled the shaft a lot sooner. Woulda saved some frustration. Good to hear you made it back okay though. Maybe Mike will make it back someday too...back from the darkside!

I may have defected, but only you guys can make me into an outcast  Besides, we still have an XJ, we just won't be floggin' that one anytime soon, and I'm still a member (notice the flashy red letters in my username)! Maybe one of these days pretty soon I'll get the CJ off of the driveway and get it out onto some trails. 'Til then, I'm just a web-wheelin' loser! :looser:

rear fixed, welded yoke, new joint. now i have 3.5" RE rear springs and 3" ZJ front coils so it sets level.

BTW
Andy did you fix yours?
