im annoyed now, its impossible to find an MJ that isnt rusted to shit. one that runs and drives and doesnt need abunch of work to drive. not only that a set of taillights would set me back about $50 WTF! so screw my MJ search im going back to the good old XJ where things are alittle cheaper and i can actually buy sliders, bolt on armor, bumpers, and lifts

:soapbox:

on a brighter note i found an 88 XJ and if the weekend is good i'll be back in the game!

It'd cost me 50 for XJ taillights too up here, the junkyard I pulled my MJ tail lights out of (and the ones I have on classifieds) charges 25/taillight all day every day :(

Occasionally when the big boss man isn't around the counter guys only charge me 20 due to the amount of stuff I buy there, but that hasn't happened in weeks now.

believe me if i stumbled upon a runing not rusted out MJ i would probably buy it. but i'm pretty much giving up that.

They can be had with some patience ... True MJ's are becoming even more rare day by day , but there are still allot of trucks that someone didn't abuse . One of the better places to find a clean running MJ would be Comanche Club .com

Those guys have allot of MJ knowledge and I see trucks for sale daily . Condition is of course varied but depending on what
you want to spend even 91-92 MJ's are sill around somewhere . My user is DJM/78 over there , check it out .

yea im a member of CC, and i found or more or less decided to buy my friends MJ which is gunna be a project for sure. but hey its a lifted MJ with a 44 for $600 and i know it inside and out

you know it inside and out......youre a funny little man....anyone remember the hole in my garage into my pantry from that thing?

the MJ is cool, but you've REALLY gotta want one to go through the work to get one road ready, let alone trail ready, because most of their floorboards are rotted clear through (fred flintstone) but they do look AWESOME when their set up right, and who doesn't like a truck?

Surprisingly mine is not only not completely rotted (you can see a little of the carpet from below, it's not as bad as my XJ and is on the list of things to handle as soon as possible) even though it began life in Alaska and spent over ten years in the northeast before I bought it, and kept it in the northeast.

Everything else is rotted though. Brake lines, fuel pump assembly, gas tank, axles, upper control arms, and basically anything else below the floorboards are a lost cause. Already fixed the brake lines, fuel stuff, control arms, and one of the axles...
