Here it is Troy, since your seem to be scheduling impaired, since I am your VP, I feel obligated to help you out.

Here's the dates: 1-4 Sep

Meet at the Dinkey Creek camp ground Thurday night on the 1 Sep.

Hit the trail on Friday 2 Sep @ 8am, starting at Courtright.

There is no changing the dates, they are set in stone! If you really want to go on this run, plan accordingly!

I call Big Red (aka Troy) as your trail run coordinator. He will be expected to coordinate the trail activities, food and hopefully find you a decent trail leader. I'll be pray for you guys while I am in TX.

Thanks for taking charge Chuck.

Unfortunately, I have plans to manually clean out my septic tank that weekend, so I won't be able to make it. I'm sorry to be missing this great trip.

Chuck, I wanted to get people thinking about what days they would like to go and see how many people would like to do a certain trail on a certain weekend. I was hoping to get interest and have people put what trails they want to do and when, and also have people like Richard who commented very specifically on the Dusy trail in regards to the elevation and when to plan on doing the trail. I have never done this trail, but want to.

I will not be able to make the dates that you selected largely due to it being during the week and also that the 1st week of the month is the busiest time for me in Accounting, also I'm coving a few people on maternity leave so I'm very busy. I would like to go sometime in Sept though and do this trail like the 2nd or 3rd weekend would work out nice, I could also then take a day off on a Friday or Monday so that we have enough time to transverse the 33 miles of "Rubicon like terrain". Thanks for your support Chuck.

Well Troy, I am still leaving you in charge to coordinate this run. If it doesn't work out, :wantyou: IT WILL BE YOUR FAULT. :wantyou: (I always wanted to use that smiley)

Anyway, change the date as you please. Anytime in September would be a great time to go. I know of a jeep club that does this run every year in Sep. I'll find out some more info and post as soon as I can. So, if you don't get any NAXJA support, you can give some other club HELL. :firedevil

Sounds good. I was just trying to get people to think about when and where they wanted to go. I wasn't trying to give anyone hell. I'm going to use a PTO day at work for the Swamp Lake run and I don't really want to use another 1 for wheeling because my family in IL always wants me to come out there, but because the Dusy trail is so long 2 days is really pushing it by the sounds of the terrain and its length. I did the Rubicon in 1 day with many stops and made it through a 19 hour Fordyce trip last summer so I don't mind a nearly 24/7 2 day run day & night. I have rock lights and like night wheeling anyways. It's so peaceful, quite, colder, and the stars are shining bright. Great time to wheel to avoid the traffic jams on the Con during the day. We should make good time because Dusy isn't as famous as the Rubicon so that should be good. Hopefully we can keep the breakdowns and downtime to a minimum and start the trail on Friday night and finish on Sunday night. I'll see if I can find the club you said does this run and/or see if I can find someone with experience on it that would want to join us. Maybe I can get my Boonie Bouncers club in Roseville to come out, they are a great good of people. :)

I'm not wimping out. I was just hoping to get people in the area who have done the trail before to head it up. I plan on doing it mid Sept. over a 2 or 3 day weekend. I didn't set the dates of 9/1-4, that is unrealistic to my work schedule. If I do take a day off of work to wheel 1 Cali trail it will be a Friday or Monday to get a 3 day weekend out of it :)

Well the only three day weekend in September is 3 - 4 - 5 making Sept. 5 a Monday which is also Labor day (a holiday for many). That would definitly workout for may people.

Whatever, I thought you were up to the challenge. I'll post up that other clubs dates later for those who are serious about wheeling Dusey. Like I said, I retracted "the date set in stone" statement, pick a date and go wheel!

You still don't get it do you?

Alright, I'll take charge of this run and co-ordinate everything.

Here's the dates: 23-26 December

Meet at the Dinkey Creek camp ground 23rd of December.

Hit the trail on 24 December @ 3:47am, starting at Courtright.

There is no changing the dates, they are set in stone! If you really want to go on this run, plan accordingly (and bring a jacket)!

I call Big Red (aka Troy) as my assistant trail run coordinator. He will be expected to coordinate the trail activities, food and hopefully find you a decent trail leader. I'll co-ordinate the important stuff (beer and cigars).

Finally, and who would of guest Brett had some? :D

See Red, pretty simple. Since the date has changed to Dec now, I'll make sure I'll bring my snowmobile instead of my XJ. See you there! ;)

Edit:

Since it's XMAS, does that mean BR needs to arrange a gift exchange. BR, I want a winch for XMAS, OK!

I cannot make it to the Swamp run. It's too far from me and I have a bad sqeak coming from my rear driveshaft I think. My motor/trans have 205K so I think I would be pushing it too much to make the trek down there.
Troy

Swamp was too far last year? But the Dusy isn't? Did Ryan change out your engine too? Just wondering how your Jeep has less miles on it this year? Or does your camper special axle have super powers?

Oh I know, you read on Pirate that you can wheel a jeep with 200K so it is all good this year.

I know my jeep alot better now. The miles don't bother me as much, I know it runs good and I will run it until it quites and then get another motor or tranny.

I know you are messing around to set a Dusy trail run in December Brett, but I really thought you would be all for runs just about anywhere in Cali since you are going to be back for good in May. I guess I was wrong about that. :laugh3: I will set a date when I have my Jeep back soon, but it will not be a NAXJA only run, it will be more informal due to not being able to set it up on the Calendar with people messing around so much. I was just trying to get people thinking of where they want to go and when. I know many of us have lots of obligations in the summer with vacations, etc etc.

I thought you were up to the challenge, but you are going to Texas instead to get away from wheeling for awhile.

Troy, trust me you are not going to make everyone happy. You are annoying people by continully hemming and hawing over and over stuff.

The SC is either going to help support you or we are not. If it wasn't for the fact that I'll be in TX this summer. I would take on coordinating this run. I myself have only been down the Ershim side, but have Family that have been wheeling Dusey/Ershim for years.

With that, when I get back in October, and if Dusey is still open, I will be going. :shiver: With or without SC.

i will be back, and will be doing lots of runs. I doubt I will turn down many Fordyce/Rubicon runs, but ones in central California I will have to limit because of all the gas to get down there. I'm gonna try real hard and make the Swamp trip, but I have no desire to do Dusy.

relax troy, it looks like the Swamp run will be the only real official one. if you want to put together some weekend runs to Fordyce or the Rubicon, go for it, and make them as organized or as casual as you want. I'll probably be going to Fordyce or Rubicon about every other weekend and occasional mid-week trips, and I'll just post a week or so in advanced.

Instead of pointing people out and demanding that they get a run going. Why don't you plan and organize a run. Or are you afraid nobody will show up. Can't imagine why nobody wants to wheel with you.

Sorry Chuck. I'll go away now. :gag:

Makes sense, sorry Brett I know you want to wheel as do I. Gas prices have gone crazy. I hope to get some mpg improvement with the acetone, but so far after a day and a 1/2 I'm not seeing the improvement yet. Let's hook up starting in May when you get back. I don't mean to be a pain, it just hurts not to wheel, I'm going crazy sitting at my computer in Acct with the Auditors and Managers buzzing around.
