sams 95 xj thread

So my mechanic put the tcase in today, but ran into a problem. he says that for some reason it will only go in 4hi and N no 4lw and no 2wd. anyone have an idea? he didnt go threw it at all before he put it in which he is kinda regretting now, but is this something anyone has gone through? the previous owner never said anything about it having to ALWAYS be in 4wd so i imagine this is something that happened in the time frame its been sitting in my garage as parts jeep...

ALSO he found out that both front hubs a garbage which has explained a few things but he is going to slap those in today.

im trying to get it to WF but damn i feel like this thing does not want to be right.

SAM'no problems the 3 times i wheeled it stock'SET

Posted in the WF to do thread, but you answered half my question. Disconnect the linkage and try to manually shift it through the gears. You may have to put it on a lift and spin the driveshafts to get it to mesh. Possible your linkage is hooked up incorrectly.

so as i may have mentioned a time or 2 about a year ago i cracked the "frame" on this rig.

so i just let it sit for while in the driveway, taking some parts off as i needed. waiting until i finally got enough time to take off everything i wanted.

finally i had time this week to gather up some of my parts.
sent it off to the junk yard today. this is good bye to my 1st jeep.

good bye ol' rusty

yea why didnt you pull that out?

Your going to regret not keeping that 30

yea why didnt you pull that out?

Meh...I look at it like this.

A)IF mine does brake, I will upgrade whatever breaks. If it breaks to the point of needing to be replaced, well then I will prolly go to a better axle. Plus being a parts guy, its not to hard to get good prices on parts.

B) they need to get it on the truck somehow.

C)don't want my yard and garage looking like a jeep junk yard. Its bad enough I have 3 non running jeeps lying around.

D) I and mostly Brianne just wanted it gone.

Still have another junker to get rid of.
