I just bought my first XJ a 1990 have owned a TJ and CJ in the past. I just moved to the sacramento area and wanted to know what the good 4wd shops are for doing axle swaps. Looking at getting a Dana 60 or Ford 9 inch in the rear and a Dana 60 or 44 up front.

Welcome. Cracker in the So Cal chapter has a very built, bolt in, high steer, alloyed, locked, near stock width 44 front. You might try sending him a PM. I think he listed it at $3k, with $150 shipping. You could probably install it in a driveway. It'd probably be cheaper than paying a shop to fully build and install one.

I only have experience with 1 fab shop in the area and most everything that comes out of their is pretty impressive - check out WFO Concepts. They are just outside of Auburn.
