Can I get a synopsis from someone in-the-know? I think I read the first few pages when they were original, and now the last 2 right now... what's in between? Anything good?

It is suggested that this thread be read "unskimmed".

I think this post fron November kind of sums this whole thread up!

The Thread is all most out of control...... But it's sooo much fun to read...... May it never DIE!!!!!!!!!

We'll see you in a few weeks then...in the meantime; this thread sucks WITH or WITHOUT pictures!! :twak:

Ok why does everything have to turn into a pissing match.
So some dont like the setup and some dont. everyone has an opinion.
As stated this will cause more wear on your tranny, just service regularly.
I run 33x12.50 swampers with auto and 3.55, which performs very well offroad i might add. a little sluggish on the highway, ok thats a given. but i service my tranny more often than others to help alleviate the thermal break down of the fluid. But anyone who wheels alot knows that this should be done any way cause the slow crawling cause the same issues as the tall tire/gear combo.!!!!!

Huh???

I now, more than ever, need to quiet the voices in my head.
I would rather wipe my ass with a cheese grater than see all this crap again.
I am going to buy 36" TSLs before I regear just to make sure that this guys grave goes undisturbed.
Have a nice day, explaining to the ASPCA that it can't be necrophilia if you did not know the cat was dead.
Hasta

Damn it, I just got that song out of my head less than a week ago. Now I'm singing it to myself all over again.

Beezil did you bring the to the top. I think you did. I am thinking I will go back to 3.55s cause I liked them more than my current 4.88s. I never broke an axle shaft when I had them. I have now broke a front one.

It only broke now, you damaged it back when you were wheeling the 35s/3.55s, you do realize that don't you!

jrsxj98 maybe you could read this whole thread and then go the same azboy did and challange us! :D

Anyone have some 3.05's I can have? I thinking those lower gears with 38's ought to work nicely. I can still go anywhere you guys can go just using my good looks. :D

Be nice, or I *WILL* send you the 3.07 D30/8.25 set I have in the garage......

I just figured it out...all the pro rockcrawlers SAY that they run 35 and 40 spline shafts w/ deep gears, but really they've cloaked an 8.25 in a 60 shroud...that way we all think big expensive parts are the way to go. Clever marketing ploy.

Don't you guys realize the smaller the axle shaft diameter and gears are, the stronger they are? It's because you can pack the molecules tighter together. :explosion

Hey Gil, I want my D35 w/ the 3.07's back dammit.

Those will fit in D44's if I shim them right, won't they?

I found a set of 3.05's and a trac lock for there rear in the garage. I've also got some 3.50's in another housing for the front. With my handy dandy caculator I figured I can run 38's in back and 44's in front so everything will match up. We'll see who can crawl then.

Actually I think it would have broke no matter what. I dont have long enough bump stops the coil fell out tire came up and locked up in the wheel well.

What the hell are you wheeling a jeep that isn't done correctly? What a moron! Fix that damn thing so it won't break and clog up the trail! Not that it would stop me, I like driving over you AZ guys. Where is that Joe guy anyhow? :D

So no limiters and no bump stops, spend all you money on over rated gears did you??????
