i say we meet at the restraunt by the BP station, have some breakfast then hit it. other suggestions? What time?

The McDonalds in North Plains is where we usually meet up when we go to TSF. Couple of gas stations right across the street, and it's right off the freeway. Just another idea to toss out there... :D

Beat me to it!

There's a McDonalds *shudder* and two gas stations at North Plains, which is like 8 minutes from the hwy 6 turn off of 26 west. There's restaurants in Banks too, but unsure on a gas station. There are a few stores scattered between banks and browns camp... as well as 2 gas stations.

Hi all,

I'm new here, but I just bought an '87 MJ that I'm dying to get dirty, so if you'd be interested in another person, the wife and I would love to go!

First off, welcome to the group! You'll find that most of us are pretty nice. ;) Secondly, nice MJ! Looks really straight....and it'll look even better all muddy. And, last but not least, we'd love for you to go. These things are always more fun with more people. Look forward to seeing ya there. :D

Thanks for the warm welcome! And yes, from that angle "The Beast" looks straight. The passenger side has a big dent behind the door and another past the rear wheel. All in all though, that's a plus for me, since I'm a reletive novice to 4 wheeling, I woont worry about the inevitible body damage that will occur!

I'm not one to start rumors (heheheh), but there's *whispers* of a smaller convoy going to TSF on the evening of the 10th, staying the night, and wheeling for a while on the 11th, then driving back to Washington.

Duhn-duhn-duuuuuhn... :scared: Just when you thought it was safe... :woohoo:

Stay tuned!

Like a buncha hens around here. ;)

Care to be a little more "spacific" bout that?

And if we go do we need forest passes or is that just for NW Fest? :dunno:

Well, My understanding is that from a legal stand point, you need a OHV pass any time you wheel in OR. However the three times I've wheeled up in Browns Camp, I didn't have a pass and didn't get in any trouble. I understand that if you get caught off road with out a pass it's a $160 (I think) fine. So it seems to me that the $10 - $10.50 is good insurance, especially since it's good for two years, but than again I may just be getting cautious in my old age! :)

Please buy a pass. I like having a legal place to wheel and for $10.50 and no tax being that its oregon your really getting an awesome deal. Especially since it good all over oregon and for 2 years.

XJLaredo: The passes are also available on the way to TSF on Hwy.6 at the shell station about 1-2 miles before the Browns Camp entrance.

They are also available at the Browns Camp store. Which is even closer to TSF on Hwy 6. At least they sold them the last time I was there. They also have maps there too. But I think they're a little more there. I've heard you can get them at DMV too, and they're the cheapest there. But I could be wrong.

Just wondering if everyone is still in? thread kinda died out all of the sudden. i deffinately am, but will be taking it slightly easier than i had planned. i totalled my car this weekend so my XJ is now my daily driver for a bit. unless i get another car b-4 the 10th.
