I read somewhere (but not sure) that the extended idle switch is found in the police package equiped XJs. I may be mistaken but I believe when on, your engine runs at a 1000 rpms higher.

Just my 2cents.
Correct, on the HO motor XJ's you can ground the #10 pin in the connector under the dash and do the same thing. Unfortunately, its only the HO based XJ's, so I have to do a throttle hold to do the same for running my OBW.

I will price out the RSX 9000's and compare the price diff, if nominal and within my budget. I will consider them.

you dont need rsx 9000's. that is a waste of money. shocks do one thing: control how easily the spring (whether it be coil or leaf) is allowed to compress. all shocks allow for compression, so offroad there will be little difference. the only difference you will notice will be on the street, and the rsx's will actually make the ride less comfortable.

Wouldn't it be an advantage to be able to set them soft off road and stiffen them up for the street?

Think you will honestly take the time to adjust them everytime you want to go off-road, then back on the street?

With the optional kit you adjust them from inside the Jeep. Seems like a good idea to me, but I'm still new to this whole thing. I am discovering that it's a good way damage plastic body parts like fender flares, bumper caps, mirrors, etc!

I would spend your hard earned cash on something other then adjustable shocks + the kit to make it so you can do it in cab. Maybe a better bumper with some tow points. But thats just me.

I will stick with the DoeshTech 3000's that are offered with the kit.
I will be adding a rear class III hitch, would love to get a new bumper but that would kill my lift budget.

ThanX ALL for the insight and helpfull tips.

.

Those are really good shocks for the money. There like $115 for all 4.
