Go to your local Tractor Supply, buy 13" standard tractor tires, cut out the side walls, use soapy water to slide the rubber tread over the stockplastic wheels. Dont get heavy tread tires (AT tires only, too much wieght can give them a loss in power). I been running this mod for 1 1/2 years and havn't had a prob with moters. Thier jeeps will climb steep hills, go through deep mud, and you'll never have to push again up that wet side walk walking down the road with them.
MOD cost: 14$....worth it all the way. My nexts mod will be to make it 18 Volts, and 4 wheel drive. After this i'll build him a cage. LOL....He fliped it on himself once. Make sure if their going down a hill in reverse that they dont stop real quick.

Thats awesome!!! On ebay i think they sell giant rubber bands that you put on the tires to give it more traction. But your idea is hella-better.

A few friends of mine where thinking of moding out a Power wheel. Putting a riding lawn mower axle in the back and rigging up a lawn motor engine to power it. They never did it but that would have been cool!

This belongs in 'other tech' or 'off topic'.

Shut it, this is Mod Tech if I've ever seen Mod Tech.....great idea here, but I've already caught my son doing the reverse to low wheelie trick......we had a quick lesson about gears and how well they work if they are in pieces.

Now hook a red top to it & watch it scream. JIM.
