Rough Country...the bad...the good

My 4.5" fixed short arms from them have about 5000 miles on them and I started to get a bad death wobble. Upon inpection, the bushing in them are shot.:flamemad:Kinda ticked me off being they were so new.

The good thing though is when I called them as soon as I told them what was going on they said they would send out new ones without asking questions or anything. That kinda makes me think this may be a common issue with them though.

It is common with any company that uses a chaper bushing, not just Rough Country. I have heard the same reports from others about the same thing. Just call up Ropugh Country and ask for Jeffery, he will take care of ya. It used to be Jason was a our go-to guy there but he has since moved on to other opportunities. And as always, please remember that Rough Country has been VERY generous to as well as the MWC. Support those who support us! :thumbup:

Yep. the flex joints are much better then the standard rubber bushings. every company has they're low-end and "high-end" options. Sounds like you went for the standard rubber bushing fixed lower control arms. some last for 5k. some 25k.

My roommate is dealing with this problem, with his Rubicon express upper and lower control arms right now aswell.

i would never mistake good customer service as bad product. good service is hard to find, appreciate it when you find a company that still gives it.

Not real sure about the flex joints being better. I just installed their long arm upgrade the middle of april and just this past weekend was able to really test it out. I've already call them up to let them know about an upper flex failure. Good thing is they are always about making things right and no questions asked sent me a rebuild set for them.

rkates, did your joint fail? Sometimes when we get the joints in the snap rings are not seated all the way and will cause the bushings to pop out. It looks good to the naked eye but with alot of force will push out. Before I install any of them I will put them in a vice with a big socket and push them together to make sure the ring is in place good.

Jason has moved on and we still keep in contact. He is wanting me to bring him to WF2011 with me but not sure the uppers in charge will go for that. I guess I could throw a back seat in the TJ and sneak him along.eace:

welll when I took it apart to inspect it their was a rip in both sides of the bushing. Not to sure what could cause this since they don't move anyways
