Rough Country drop bracket install w/ pics

they will be fine, just dont over tighten the mounts until the arms are in place or you will have a tough time getting them in the brackets.I have mounted Rusty's, RC and RE arms in mine w/o any problems, just not the teraflex arms b/c I did not have any to test with.

Hi all, im from australia and i want some. Has or does anyone on here know of anyone that has ordered these from australia? Im after shipping costs etc. I also want to get in touch with someone who can order these for me and ship them so if anyone is willing...

No problem with the install, these are beef.

I have had the Rough County DB's on my Jeep for just about a year now and I love them. I have had one and only one problem. The drivers side bolts in the braces would not stay tight. I had the local shop weld the DB's and the brackets together and then weld them to the "frame". They are not a problem anymore!

Yeah, I did not get them supertight...seemed like they could strip. I haven't actually heard anybody having much sucess with self tapping bolts in our thin unibody rails.

I wouldn't want to weld them myself personally because I know eventually I will upgrade to a newer XJ....and I want everything to come off as easily as it went on so I could use it in the new one :)

welding them is one option. you could also drill holes into frame, take a dremel and open a access hole and bolt them. pound opening flat and silicone or jb weld it and paint. i personally wouldnt trust the self threading screws on that brace.

Just got mine today! These were on sale and theres no way I could pass em up.

Just by feeling them these things are SOLID. Beefy in all respects.

I am at 8" of lift with mine and they preform awesome. I actually welded mine to the factory LCA mount and then welded the brace to the drop bracket as well. I did not show this step in the original post b/c I did not want to take away from the basic install and write up. They are not coming off without some major work. BUT..with the new long arm set up on its way...these are going to be coming off one way or another!

im getting ready to put these on today but i have a question. the directions say to jack the jeep up and put jack stands behind the control arm mounts. it says nothing about removing the frons wheels and putting jack stands under the axel also. it seems that this would make it easier to work with the front tires off. so an insite on this would help thanks.

it's gonna be kinda hard to hold the vehicle up by the axle after you pull all the control arms off...

well i just got done installing the drop brackets and they are great. but now the jeep pulls to the left when driving. what needs to be adjusted? thanks

I am very intrested in this. I have a 2000 with a 4" Procomp lift. I hate and I mean really hate the road manners of this kit. Will this really help the street manners. I do very little of roading and zero crawing so loss of ground clerance is not much of an issue.

Make sure that both sides are adjusted evenly. If the passenger/right side is longer than the drivers/left side that could be your problem

I do not really notice a difference in ride quality besides on rough train tracks and larger pot holes. I am at 7" too with adjustable arms.

But I do see the point about making it easier to get over obstacles though.

If you are in the US, the driver's side wheelbase is supposed to be just a bit shorter than the passenger side. I think 1/4" or so. This allows the jeep to track straight and not follow the crown of the road. Measure your wheelbase on each side and let us know what it is. You might have too much wheelbase on the passenger side.
