I'm pretty much settled in now. I know my Jeep is not exactly ready for any wheeling. I don't have tow hooks or a full size spare. I'm working on these things. I'm also hoping to get a welder soon and start goofing around. I would like to be able to make rock sliders by Spring time. I know there is some great places to wheel around the Woodland Park area but I have no clue what I'm doing. I get a little scared when I'm off-road. I have never gone with others so I have no education. I'm anxious to learn. I just wanna be responsible about the whole thing and not be the asshat that gets stuck b/c he has no business being on the trail. (By the way...this did not happen to me last year in Buena Vista. I did not almost shat myself on a trail up to Ptarmigan Lake that my rescuer laughed at). Would anyone be willing to go on a cheezy ride and let me and my gal and pooch tag along so the learning curve can begin? I can supply cold brew afterwards if that helps.

I did not mean for this to be here. Mods...please move this to the CO Chapter. I'll try and find someone to show me the ropes on the forums as well.

Unlike most of these guys that eat boulders and spit sand, I run with a small group of people from our office in Colorado Springs. We have a coulple of lightly modified Xj's, an 04 Rover, a stock 05 Xterra and a stock TJ. We have been ramping up the difficulty together but only run trails that get you somewhere pretty and don't necessarily give body damage. Last weekend we ran Redcone and had a blast. We are talking about another run on Labor day Monday but we have not decided where we are going to go. We generally group up at the Mc Donalds in Woodland Park. If you want me to let you know when our next run will be, shoot me an e-mail at [email protected].
